Gorgeous Guitar

One of the Best guitars I have purchased! When it arrived I thought it was a cedar top because most mahogany is a very dark wood. I love the reddish tint to this guitar, and it sounds great! I would recommend this guitar any day to my friends.
Photo and price doesn't do it justice

I own guitars costing over $4000 and I never really ever thought I would be interested in buying a Yamaha but man was I was wrong! I wanted a beater that I didn't have to worry about getting dinged up but after it came in it looked so gorgeous that I treat it like my expensive flat tops. You shouldn't buy a guitar on looks but the pictures of this thing don't show it's true beauty. The fit and finish is flawless. The neck is slim and fast and the action is good. The only thing I changed were the tuners. There wasn't anything wrong with the chrome tuners that it came with as they were completely functional but I thought it needed the look of gold Grover's to match its somewhat deep golden brown overall appearance, just my personal taste. The Grover tuners fit right in the original peg head tuner holes without any problem or modification. The all mahogany guitar sounds very mellow and has a relatively deep bass but still has decent mid tones and highs and volume. It's hard to believe they could pack this much quality of construction, material and great sound in what I consider to be a very inexpensive guitar. It's hard to see in the photos but there is nice light mahogany purfiling around the front and back edges of the instrument. It's a classy touch for a guitar under $400 bucks. This guitar is an absolute steal at this price and it would be rather difficult to find more guitar for your money on a new all mahogany acoustic. This Yamaha FG850 is a fantastic guitar at any price.

Absolutely in love with this thing. Yamaha holds true to it's name and continues to impress with this model. I'm thinking about getting some different med strings and bridge pins(for aesthetic), but other than that, I cannot complain. I will also say that this thing is much darker in person, don't let the picture fool you. If you're a mahogany-lover, like me, you cant go wrong here.
Frist guitar.
