If you are learning flamenco this is a great guitar. Ive played a few of my teachers guitars that cost much more than this and I don't feel or hear much difference. Before I bought this I bought a different flamenco guitar that cost twice as much but I prefer this one.
I have the 171 model for many years now A go to guitar

I am using as a classical guitar since I am not really a flamenco player but do use some flamenco techniques such as rumba. I love the tone and the frets and action are very nice. No complaints here.

I own a few Flamenco guitars in the 3K to 4K price range but now that I have a one year old baby boy I find that I'm just too paranoid to play them around him. To be honest I was looking for a budget friendly guitar but I didn't have very high hopes that this guitar would really sound all that great, but boy was I wrong. As soon as I pulled it out of the box I was surprised how light it is, and I really like the natural feel of the matte finish. The intonation is excellent, and the sound is probably the biggest surprise. I'm already very happy with the sound, but I am looking forward to putting a set of my favorite strings on it, and I'm sure the sound will only improve the more I play it..
I would definitely purchase this guitar again

This guitar is considered by many to be one of the best flamenco available I have had my Guitar for 10 years along with my Ramirez. I do not think that you can beat the price of this instrument I highly recommend it for everyday practice and . DESCRIPTION This guitar has a fast response and a big, woody, traditional flamenco sound. More precisely, the tone is clear and focused with a slightly dark texture - "Andalusian" in character - I truly love this instrument as it is durable and the finish stays constant It plays great - the extremely lightweight build give it a very explosive attack, it has a big, raspy sound. Ver Overall, a wonderful concert guitar of a great Yahama for the serious flamenco student player

I purchased this guitar two months ago on-line at Guitar Center because it is not carried in store inventory. I tried in in the store so I could return it if it didn't suit my needs. I previously tried Cordoba guitars in a similar price range and found the Yamaha to have a more robust tone; especially the base strings. I am trying to learn flamenco guitar from several books and DVDs and I have found the CG172SF excellent for that purpose.

Perhaps it's just an error on the part of GC, but the listing indicates that this guitar comes with a hard case. Does this guitar come with a case or not?
I’m very sorry for the confusion. It does not.submitted7 years ago

Hello, My son is interested in this guitar but he doesn't have much money to spend. This guitar is shown in stock, but not at my local Guitar Center. Is there any way one can be sent to our local store for him to try out?
If you reach out to your local store they can help you place an order and when it arrives if he doesn't like it he can return it on the spot.
