The gain structure on the CryoTube 12AX7-WCM preamp tube in a Deluxe style amp is incredibly smooth rather than fuzzy, crunchy, or just plain harsh. The WCM has more pronounced midrange (around 1k) than the WCB, which is a helpful frequency range to help cut through a mix.

    I play the harmonica through a H&K Tubemeister 18 that uses a pair of EL84s and a pair of 12AX7s. Mine are all CryoTone because they give me such an advantage in cutting through the traffic when it's my turn to play.

    I have replaced my "standard" quality tubes with Cryotone tubes and have found a fuller range and tighter frequencies that make your playing more direct. Incredibly inspiring to play once you have them installed.
