The Vic Firth Corpsmaster Marching Timpani Mallets Staccato is the ultimate timpani mallet for outdoor drumline performance. Designed for demanding marching band and drum corps applications, these medium-hard mallets produce tight, rhythmic articulation from timpani drums. Maple shafts and synthetic felt heads withstand high-impact playing in all weather conditions, while a weighted design provides powerful sound projection and rich low fundamentals. Vic Firth Corpsmaster Staccato mallets deliver unmatched tone and longevity for outdoor percussion.

Medium-Hard Heads Produce Crisp Staccato

With medium-hard felt heads, Vic Firth Corpsmaster Staccato mallets articulate rhythmic passages with staccato precision. The felt material provides enough give for resonant tone, yet remains firm enough for sharp, detached notes. These mallets bring out the crispness of timpani drums, ideal for rhythmic passages in contemporary marching music.

Maple Shafts and Weather-Resistant Materials

Vic Firth constructs Corpsmaster Staccato mallets using durable, weather-resistant materials to withstand outdoor playing conditions. Maple shafts provide lightweight maneuverability with strength, while synthetic felt heads are unaffected by temperature or humidity changes. These mallets are built to endure long rehearsals, frequent transport and performance in rain or shine without compromising tone or playability.

Weighted Design Maximizes Sound Projection

With extra weight concentrated at the mallet heads, Vic Firth Corpsmaster Staccato mallets require less effort to produce full, projecting tone from timpani drums. The weighted design also emphasizes lower frequencies for a darker, richer timbre that carries over long distances. Despite the added weight, these mallets remain well-balanced and comfortable during extended playing.

Unmatched Durability and Value

Vic Firth Corpsmaster Staccato mallets deliver professional-grade performance and durability at an affordable price. Built to withstand the demands of competitive marching, these mallets provide years of reliable service for student groups and world-class drum corps alike. For powerful, projecting tone and enduring quality, Vic Firth Corpsmaster Staccato mallets are an unbeatable value.

I got these specifically to record tribal Tom parts and ostinatos. Other harder mallets just didn't have that big warm sound I was looking for. These fit the bill!
