Vic Firth 5A Double Glaze sets the standard
As always, Vic delivers matched sticks with unparalleled quality. The double glaze finish is reminiscent of the old Regal Tip finish, but with VF shapes and quality control. I like the tacky nature of the finish as my hands warm up. I am partial to lighter pairs, as there will be variations from pair to pair. Maybe it's just me, but the double glaze seems to add a bit more durability as the sticks don't tend to fray as easily with repeated rim shots and cymbal-smacking as compared to sticks without the double glaze. Vic Firth 5A is my go-to stick for most applications. The Double-Glaze adds an element that I dig. You might dig it, too.

I would not buy this product again.
They are to slippery when performing live, I didn't realize they were double finished/ glazed. It effected my performance because they kept slipping out of my hand. The wood of the sticks was fine.

These are an awesome pair of sticks because of three reasons. 1 they will make you play with the grain vertical so they won't split on you. 2 they also are great for practice not just for live! 3 I live in Az it gets hot over here and when I sweat the stick will become more grippy!
I highly recommend Vic Firth drum sticks 5A double glazed

As a drummer of over 59 years I have tried many brands of drum sticks. Vic Firth sticks have a quality unmatched by all other brands. The double glazed finish on these models gives me a comfortable grip which enables me to have the required "loose grip" but secure throughout a long gig. I'm confident in the quality of Vic Firth sticks, confident enough to order sticks from suppliers rather than having to "test the sticks" at a local music store. There's never been a "banana stick" or mismatched pair of sticks with any of my orders. Quality you can depend on with Vic Firth drum sticks.

With other gripped sticks I've found my hands get torn up, that's not the case with these! The double glaze adds the perfect amount of grip & feel, i recommend them to new & experienced drummers!

First pair of sticks, heavier due to the hickory wood but has better bounce do to its weight. Also has a fuller sound to it
