Universal Audio

collapse expand iconDescription

The Universal Audio Apollo Twin MKII DUO Heritage Edition is a special edition of the acclaimed Apollo Twin interface, offering next-generation AD/DA conversion for wide dynamic range and ultra-low distortion. The Apollo Twin MKII DUO packs console functionality into a desktop unit for Mac and PC with built-in UAD processing to emulate the rich, warm sound of analog plug-ins during tracking and mixing. The Apollo Twin's Unison preamp technology re-creates the tone of classic mic preamps in a way software alone can't match. The Apollo Twin DUO comes with a premium suite of five UAD plug-in titles and the Realtime Analog Classics bundle to provide accurate emulations of vintage analog gear.

Elite-Level Conversion for Pristine Audio Quality

The Apollo Twin DUO offers elite-class A/D and D/A conversion for high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192 kHz. This premium conversion provides an ultra-wide dynamic range and vanishingly low distortion for crystal-clear audio quality. The Heritage Edition comes equipped with two Unison-enabled preamps, allowing you to track through meticulous emulations of preamps from Neve, API, Manley, SSL, Avalon, Helios and Universal Audio. Unison technology also provides impedance and gain matching for guitar and bass amp models from Fender, Marshall and Ampeg.

Realtime UAD Processing With DUO Core

The Apollo Twin DUO allows you to run the full UAD Powered Plug-In library with near-zero latency using the onboard DUO Core processor. This realtime UAD processing gives you access to emulations of vintage compressors, EQs, tape machines, mic preamps, guitar amps and more. The Heritage Edition comes with five UAD plug-in titles in addition to the Realtime Analog Classics bundle, providing the most accurate collection of classic analog emulations available in any audio interface.

Seamless Integration With LUNA Recording System

The Apollo Twin DUO integrates fully with LUNA, Universal Audio's recording application for Mac. LUNA provides an intuitive single-window workflow with unlimited track counts, accelerated realtime monitoring and built-in tape emulation. The Apollo Twin MKII DUO also offers improved monitoring controls, a built-in talkback mic and the ability to combine up to four Thunderbolt Apollos and six total UAD-2 devices as your studio expands.

Get Legendary UA Sound Natively With UAD Spark

The Apollo Twin MKII DUO Heritage Edition includes access to UAD Spark, Universal Audio's subscription plug-in collection that runs natively on Mac with no UA hardware required. UAD Spark allows you to balance your DSP load between the Apollo Twin MKII DUO and your computer's built-in processing, expanding your plug-in processing power.

I purchased the Universal Audio Apollo Twin Thunderbolt edition from the Guitar Center, online last year. Since then it has been my go to for my daily audio recording. I was skeptical to buy it at first because of the price and not really having any previous knowledge about it. After a few days of research and actually going to the local Guitar Center to see how it performed, I was sold. I found that the Apollo Twin functionality fit my needs well,.It allowed me to connect both sets of my monitors or two additional pairs of headphones. The talk back function allows me to interact with my artist while he/she is in the recording booth and me never having to leave my seat. My concerns with the Apollo are first it gets fairly warm when being used for a lengthy period of time. Also, I don't like the fact that I had to buy my own thunderbolt cable to connect to my computer being that it does not come included with the device. My overall experience has been great and I totally recommend the Apollo Twin to any of my friends in the music industry who does home recordings.
