StingRay Ray4HH Maple Fingerboard Electric Bass, a robust yet affordable bass from Sterling by Music Man. Packed with professional features, this bass is ideal for beginners and working musicians alike. It features two low-noise humbucking pickups with a five-way switch, allowing for a range of tones from bright and punchy to deep and growling. An active 9V preamp provides a boost and three-band EQ for total tonal control.

Dual Pickups Open Up a World of Tone

With its dual humbucking pickups and five-way switch, the StingRay HH lets you explore a variety of tones to suit any musical style. The pickups deliver a hot, high-output sound with minimal noise. Select the neck pickup alone for a deep, rounded tone, the bridge pickup alone for an aggressive, biting growl or combine them both for a balanced tone with full lows and articulate highs. The five-way switch also provides two single-coil sounds, giving you a quacky, vintage-style tone. With this much tonal variety at your fingertips, you'll be ready for any gig.

Active Preamp Provides Power and Control

The StingRay HH features an active 9V preamp that provides a significant boost in output and three-band EQ control. Sculpt your tone with bass, midrange and treble controls, dialing in the perfect balance of low-end thump, midrange punch and high-end sizzle. The preamp also gives you more than enough power and headroom for playing in a variety of live and studio settings.

Premium Components for Solid Performance

Designed and crafted for professional use, the StingRay HH provides rock-solid performance and playability. It features an adjustable heavy-duty bridge for stable intonation, a sleek contoured body for comfortable playability and a maple fingerboard for a fast, smooth feel under your fingers. Premium components like these, combined with high-quality pickups and electronics, make the StingRay HH a bass you can rely on for years of great tone and performance.

Bought the Sterling Musicman Stingray for my son's birthday. Action was pretty good right out of the box. Intonation was all over the place and the neck needed some adjustment, but was easily fixed with the supplied tools. The packaging was a horror show, box was torn open and shredded, but thankfully the bass was ok. No fault of Guitar Center, this is squarely on UPS. all in all, a great purchase! #sweepstakes

I was absolutely blown away by how good this bass is. The components are high quality, and it is very well built. Set up was easy & only required a couple minor tweaks. So, I installed some flatwounds and it was good to go. And it sounds every bit as good as my MIA Fender P Bass.

  • Just perfect!

New bass player here, was looking for something good quality and budget friendly to learn on and this checks all the boxes. The blue is beautiful and really catches the eye. Sounds great and the 5 way switch gives you many sound options.

When I strung the E string on any fret and released it from the fret. The string began to vibrate annoyingly. How can I fix this?

If my bass is active pick-up & requires battery, why ,then does it still play without battery

The pup is passive. The EQ is active. Some active instruments work without a battery

Is it better that this bass guitar is active and needs a battery pack in the back? Or would it be better to get a passive one?

That's strictly a personal choice. They will sound different. I, personally, prefer passive.
