Squier Classic Vibe '60s Mustang Bass Guitar Olympic White

Description
This Squier Classic Vibe '60s Mustang Bass guitar brings the iconic short-scale bass into the 21st century. This reissue of Fender's 1960s-era Mustang Bass features a 30" maple neck and a comfortable C-shaped profile for effortless playability. A Fender-designed alnico split-coil pickup delivers the punchy, growling tone that defined a generation. Smaller hands will relish the short-scale length and narrow frets for comfort and control.
Vintage Looks, Modern Sound
While the Mustang Bass retains the curvy body, nickel-plated hardware and vintage headstock markings of its 1960s forebear, Squier loaded it with a high-output alnico pickup for a throaty, muscular tone that cuts through any mix. A master volume and tone knob provide simple but effective tonal shaping. The 9.5" fretboard radius and narrow frets make it easy to bend notes and play complex chords.
Lightweight Comfort for All-Night Playability
The Mustang Bass' chambered agathis body reduces weight for comfortable extended playing. Its 30" scale length is perfect for smaller hands or any player who prefers a more compact instrument. The slim C-shaped neck profile feels instantly familiar. A bone nut enhances sustain and tuning stability.
Take It Anywhere—And Play Anything
The Mustang Bass guitar is ideal for gigging musicians and students alike. Its versatile tone pairs well with any genre from classic rock to alt-pop to blues. Fender's iconic styling ensures it looks as good as it sounds under the stage lights.

This bass guitar looked fairly good at first but had several quality issues. There were screws that were installed improperly, including the strap pin at the end of the guitar. In addition, when I plugged into an amp, there was ground noise on a setup that produces no noise when I plug in my other basses. I returned this item as there were too many issues for a new guitar

Love it! My first short scale bass for setting around watching TV while practicing! My other full scale bass was not the one to use in my easy chair! Great bass sounds too, sounds and plays great

I have previously played and owned only long scale basses. Have always wanted to try a short scale. Went to my local GC and tried a few they had in house. The short scale Sterling was a nice looking bass but the fret work was terrible. Based on reading other reviews I took a risk and ordered a Squire CV 60 Mustang. It is a beautiful instrument. Arrived in great condition with absolutely no flaws. Finish is great, Fretwork is great, string action and intonation were nearly perfect. Hard to believe that Squire can make an instrument like this for such a reasonable price.
Great classic mustang for a steal!

I've had a few Japanese (CIJ and MIJ) reissues we well as the player series. This is as good as any of them. I did switch the pickups out for Duncan Custom Shop replicas because the factory "designed by Fender" ones were weak. But after a nice fret dressing and new pots and a solid jack, this baby plays. Great neck. Solid body. Can't beat the price. Got two of them to compare and they were identical. Great factory quality control.
Got some problems with the neck and pickups

These had a problem with the pickup that is really irritating. The hole in the pickguard for the pickup is too small. So, when you go to adjust the height of the pickup when you are doing a setup, the pickup cover doesn't move, but the pickup itself does. This causes the pickup to come out of the pickup cover and also causes the screws for the pickguard to strip. I had to remove the pickguard and glue the pickup and pickup cover back together, and also replace the pickup height adjustment screws. Also, when I got it home I realized the neck needed adjusting. Guitar Center doesn't pay for a setup when you buy a guitar. I was able to do this myself. Having said all that, it is now adjusted and sounds good. But, it was kind of a do it yourself project you don't expect even at this price point.

I see used Squier Mustang basses that are in Capri Orange with a red stripe on them. Does Guitar Center still have that option?
I'm sorry but I'm not sure. I will have a product specialist contact you.submitted2 years ago
