PowerStage 170 is a revolutionary pedalboard power amp designed for guitarists using pedals, modelers and effects processors to create their tone.
The PowerStage 170 is a game-changing product for guitar players that have dreamed of the day their entire rig can live on their pedal board. Maybe you love your tube amp but don't want to lug it around. Or you use a modeler that has a ton of functionality but doesn't sound as good when plugged in to your amp. Do you dread fly dates or gigs because you're never sure what your backline will be?

This is a 170-watt power amp with a beautiful clean preamp section and 3-band, more global EQ, making it the perfect complement to pedalboards and digital modeling devices. It is small enough to fit directly on a pedalboard or in any gig bag, lightweight enough for fly dates and attractive enough to look great at a church or coffeehouse gig, in a home office or in a dorm room.

This is a 170-watt power amp with a beautiful clean preamp section and 3-band global EQ, making it the perfect complement to pedalboards and digital modeling devices. It is small enough to fit directly on a pedalboard or in any gig bag, lightweight enough for fly dates and attractive enough to look great at a church or coffeehouse gig, in a home office or in a dorm room.

The PowerStage 170 will give you reliable, musical power on every gig, eliminating the uncertainty that backline amps can bring. Simply bring your guitar and your pedalboard and get your tone through whatever cab is provided. The 170's intuitive 3-band analog EQ allows for quickly fine-tuning your sound for any cabinet and any venue—no need to wrestle with the cumbersome and ineffective EQs on digital gear or modify your stompbox settings. Everything you need is right there. You can even adjust the big Master Volume knob with your foot, boosting solos and controlling dynamics in real time. And when you bypass your overdrive and distortion boxes, it will function as your clean channel, with the sweet, warm sound that we associate with great amps. Not every power amp can do that.

Imagine the freedom of showing up at a gig with a streamlined, lightweight rig that you can get up and running in under five minutes, with the confidence that comes from knowing that you will have your sound, no matter what. Forget about cartage, forget about complicated setups, forget about backline issues and think about the PowerStage 170.

Think about it: a powerful, portable, musical tool that can prevent headaches and backaches, onstage and in the studio. Whether you use pedals, modelers or anything else to get your signature sound, the PowerStage 700 will let you amplify it in a clean and toneful way. This is your tone, only louder.

Like Seymour Duncan's award-winning pedals, the PowerStage 700 is designed and assembled at their Santa Barbara, Calif., factory by the same team responsible for their legendary pickups.

Plugged into my 2×12 cab at 8 ohms and had plenty of volume for my theater pit gig with a full band. Running a headrush pedal board (turning off cab simulator/IR) straight into the powerstage.

I'm really happy with the purchase. The PS170 sounds loud and clear for a home studio. I play metal and sound good Clean and with Distortion Pedals. I paired it with the Hughes & Kettner TubeMeister TM112 60W 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet and I like how it sounds.

Had a bunch of pedals laying around and threw together a pedalboard rig. Used a pedal train metro 24. Guitar to Horizon Devices precision drive, ReVv G3, delay, right in to Seymour powerstage, right out to Orange 4x12. Sounds great. The EQ helps. I've had to adjust when swapping cabs. Still not like a nice tube amp set up but makes a good porta rig. I always wanted a simple power amp to run things through. This was just right. They need to make one stereo but closer to this price range.

I'm a Line 6 Helix guy, some call me THE Helix guy. I wanted to hear my Helix through a traditional guitar cabinet, along with my favorite FRFR speaker...so, I thought I'd give the Powerstage 170 a shot...Wow, what a difference! It's got that bottom-end "grunt" that was lacking in my JBL Eons. Now, running both at once, I get the best of both worlds, so to speak. Clarity AND balls. And, talk about LOUD, the Powerstage 170 has more power than I could ever use...running into a wide-body Mesa Boogie 1x12 with a 90 watt speaker is crazy loud, with the volume set to 10 'o clock, noon would blow out our drummer! I also really appreciate the on-board EQ, pulling down the mids and highs a bit allows me to easily match the tone coming from the Helix.

Great as a stand-alone clean amp with a cabinet for a perfect, portable jazz tone. Could easily be used with a distortion box for other gigs as well. Plenty of power to spare!

I bought this after my EHX 44 magnum fried because I had a gig and the Powerstage is all guitarcenter had in stock. I was not super excited about spending 399 on it but as the saying goes "the show must go on." I was very presently surprised with how loud and warm the SD Powerstage 170 actually was. I used it with my Fractal Axe FX. The EQ is very strong and tiny adjustments go a long way. The beat use for this is for things like the axe FX, Kemper, and other top of the line amp modelers.
