Description

This Seymour Duncan loaded prewired pickup comes with a versatile combination of Seymour Duncan Stack Plus pickups with push/pull for splitting the pickups into true single coils. With three of their patented Stack Plus pickups, this prewired pickguard delivers big, beefy tones without sacrificing the chime and sparkle of a great vintage Strat. The Custom Stack Plus in the bridge position gives you a full, fat-sounding bridge tone.

The Vintage-Hot Stack Plus gives you a little thicker neck tone. And the Classic Stack Plus in the middle gives you a variety of vintage flavorings in positions 2, 3 and 4. Overall, you get a truly versatile, noiseless setup that can be dropped into your Strat.

Any future pickup changes you decide to make will be a snap because this pickguard comes equipped with a Liberator solderless system that makes swapping pickups fast and easy. There is also a coil-splitting option that lets you choose between hum-cancelling Stack mode and traditional single-coil operation.

Handbuilt in Santa Barbara, CA, this fully loaded pickguard comes with the Seymour Duncan Liberator solderless pickup system, and uses an 11-screw USA pickguard pattern. These pickups all use Alnico V rod magnets, 3-conductor splittable leadwire and are vacuum wax potted for squeal-free operation.

    I found them to be pretty flat in the tone department. They don't sound like classic Strat pickups at all and the Humbucking position offers no discernable boost. I ended up putting the old MIM pickups back and this now sits on a shelf ( I waited to long and can't return them ). $300+ worth of blah. I wrote a review on SD's site and it was removed, guess they only take the reviews they like. It's fair to mention that I have several sets of SD pups and like them all but these aren't for me.

    I've used SD stacked pickups and was pleasantly surprised. I had described those on TDPRI as having a quasi single coil sound but a bit more "muscular." That description applies to this set as well. These do the 2 and 4 positions well, plus they sound like a muscular single coil in the 1, 3, and 5 positions. I'm a single coil fan, and I made peace with the 60 cycle hum when Ronald Reagan was president. I just like these pickups for the way they sound. They stand on their own very well.

    I popped out my old pick guard and in probably less than 10 minutes had the new one wired and secured to the body. All with no soldering. NICE!!!!!! Best of all, it sounds great. Bridge pickup has good bite and the middle and neck pickups have a lot of tone to offer. Very happy. Might have to install this on my other strats....

    I am looking to convert a HSS Squier to SSS configuration instead of HSS. I am aware that I may have to change the volume pot for the bridge pickup but that aside will the bridge single coil be tonally effected because it will be inside a humbucker sized slot? a single coil is smaller than a humbucker so I'd imagine there might be excess room.
