I have been playing on and off for about 20 years. Recently, I have started to get much more serious about my playing. So, I wanted to get a great, new bass. I tried different Fenders such as the Aerodyne Special and the American Pro ii. One day my local GC, I noticed this bass sitting right in front of me in the bass room. I was immediately enraptured by the feel of the instrument. I have small fingers, so a thin neck is important to me as it can get difficult for me to reach around to the lower frets. The neck is one of the sleekest and smoothest that I have ever felt. Although the 24 fret extension may make it a bit more challenging to play slap (really just when popping) the frets being a bit more closely spaced makes it easier to play. Fretting was very well done, though I did ask for a couple of the fret edges to be filed just by a hair during setup. Speaking of setup, the factory setup from the Schecter shop was nearly flawless, though I did have the action lowered just slightly. That brings me to the real engine that drives this beast, the EMG 35 P4 and the EMG 35 DC pickups. I was hesitant about these pickups at first because I have a Schecter Custom with EMG 35HZs that I was not happy with. I had already fallen in love with the classic Fender J tone. That said, when putting these side by side I found that this bass had as a deep and clear of a thud as the Fender had. The string-through design also helped (to a small extent with sustain). I play all over the fretboard, but one of my loves is playing chords or arpeggios on the higher frets. Right after I purchased this bass, I had some LaBella Super Long Flat Wounds put on the bass. When playing chords or higher notes, this has given the bass a full, lyrical quality almost as if I was playing on nylon strings. The only thing to note about playing on this bass is that you do not need to put much pressure on the strings to get a strong/ clear sound. A very light touch is all that is needed. I am absolutely very impressed with this bass!

I have another Schecter that is similar to this one and love how it plays and sounds. This C4 is no different! The feel of the bass is nice and the sounds I can get out of it really suit the kind of music I play! I would recommend this bass!

Hello, I use this bass mainly for practice and jamming with friends. It has Great Tone. 2 band Eq is Great. Size-wise it's a little smaller that traditional fender basses which makes it easier to play for me. Quality of the Bridge, Pickups and Pegs is solid. Only issue I see is that the finish on the body is wearing out quite quick where my fingers rub on, where the thumb sits in the pickup and where the index and middle rub after playing the E String. I've been only playing this bass for 3 months and you can see the wear on the finish of the body. Also the Input Jack is a little stiff, not a big deal but something worth mentioning, it's a little harder to push the cable in. I got the blue bass but the tone is a little different than the photos, it's a little less blue and it looks more dull in real life.
