Description
The SABIAN AAX X-plosion fast crash cymbal is a 16" cymbal that provides an unparalleled combination of volume, cut and musicality. Handcrafted from B20 bronze, this ultraresponsive cymbal features a thin, tapered edge for instantaneous response with full, bright tone. The AAX X-plosion fast crash cuts through the densest mixes with ease while maintaining rich, complex overtones. SABIAN's proprietary Auto-Focus Response technology ensures accurate, balanced response at all dynamic levels. For drummers seeking a crash cymbal that can keep up with the fastest playing but still sound musical, the AAX X-plosion fast crash is the ultimate modern bright sound.
Explosive Power and Punch
The AAX X-plosion fast crash is SABIAN's thinnest and most responsive 16" crash. Its ultrathin, tapered edge produces an immediate, explosive crash with a bright, cutting attack. Despite its light weight, this cymbal delivers a full, saturated crash sound with rich musical overtones. The AAX X-plosion fast crash cuts through loud stage volumes and dense mixes with ease while still sounding natural and musical. For drummers playing aggressive styles of music, this crash provides power, projection and musicality in equal measure.
Handcrafted B20 Bronze for Tonal Quality
Like all SABIAN cymbals, the AAX X-plosion fast crash is cast from B20 bronze, an alloy containing 80% copper and 20% tin. B20 bronze produces cymbals with a warm, complex tone, musical overtones and a natural acoustic profile. Sabian handcrafts each AAX X-plosion fast crash individually, hammering and lathing every cymbal to exacting standards. The result is a crash cymbal with outstanding tonal quality, responsiveness and projection.
Auto-Focus Response for Balanced Sound
SABIAN's proprietary Auto-Focus Response technology is integral to the AAX X-plosion fast crash's performance. Auto-Focus Response combines Sabian's unparalleled cymbal-making expertise with 21st century acoustic engineering to produce cymbals with a balanced, musical sound at all volume levels. From quiet practicing to loud live shows, the AAX X-plosion fast crash delivers the same focused, articulate crash sound. This highly responsive yet controllable cymbal is equally at home in the studio or on stage.

AAX xplosion fast line cymbals are the best, I play at home and use the smaller ones for studio sound
Sustains too much for a fast crash for me.

As much as I like Sabian, AAX, and the X-plosion line, this one falls short as a "fast crash." I have the 16", and I like the sound - bright and responsive; however, it doesn't dissipate quick enough for me. Some would say I'm too picky, but I bought this to come on quickly and die just as quick. I bought this to replace a Zildjian fast crash, which did dissipate quickly; however, it had this deep-gong undertone. The Sabian does not have that! Yeah! But, the crash also lingers just a little too long for me. All in all, I like the cymbal, but not as a "fast crash." That's why it only gets four stars from me.
one of the best cymbals I've heard yet

I bought a 15" aax xplosion,16"aax xplosion fast crash, 18" aax xplosion fast crash. The 16" I bought over the phone as soon as I heard it I knew the cymbal sounded good. The 18" I hit in passing though the drum section at GC and thought that sounded good. I bought all three for around $340 New, it would be around $640. But all three have prints that won't come off. I have cleaned them over 8 times.
What a fantastic sound

I was amazed could not be happier this is exactly what I was looking forward to owning and I enjoyed the fact that I bought it online and didn't have to go to the store and check out a bunch of different cymbals.
Awesome Crash

Initially I was skeptical of buying a thinner crash, but this has been my longest lasting crash I've had yet. Almost three years strong now. It plays easier than the regular AAXplosion Crash too.
