ProLine designed the PL402 with touring musicians in mind. Fully welded contact points where the braces meet the tiers prevent slipping and wear over time. Whether you need your keys close at hand or prefer them elevated, the PL402's 15" of total height adjustment per tier gives you flexibility.

While compact enough for home studios, the PL402 provides ample support for the keyboards professional players rely on. With a 110lb. maximum load capacity between its two tiers, this stand handles most major keyboard sizes with ease. Use the lower tier for your master keyboard and the upper tier for a MIDI controller or synthesizer. When fully loaded, the PL402's innovative double X-brace design and non-slip feet keep all your equipment stable and securely in place.

Solid stand, but needs a little ergonomic refinement.

I bought this stand a few years ago. For a while, I had an old Korg T1 (85 lbs) on the bottom tier, and my Korg M3-61 on top, and the stand just grinned and asked for more. I also like it because I'm a tall guy, and other X-stands I've ever used all felt too short. The only beefs I have with the stand is that the upper tier is actually too high. I remedied the problem by cutting about two inches out of the upper tier's vertical bars, welding them back together and repainting them.

Use Caution

I owned this stand for about four years and just started using the upper tier about a year ago when I bought a second keyboard. Two weeks ago, in the middle of a gig, one of the hand-tightened bolts securing one of the upper tier arms sheared off in the middle of playing a song, and my upper keyboard (Nord) crashed down on my Yamaha. Luckily, neither keyboard was damaged, and I was able to finish out my gig with the help of a lot of duck tape. Guitar Center informed me that they don't carry replacement bolts for this unit. So beware, this model works well as designed, but if you use it frequently, you might want to devise some sort of backup brace for your upper board in the event that one of the bolts fails from heavy use and/or over-tightening.

Ì am a working keyboardist and have several stands that I use depending on the gig. This stand is generally my go-to and most used stand and I find that I'm getting 1.5 to 2 years use before it's time to replace it. I've only had one catastrophic failure where it collapsed due to the locking pin failed to engage completely. Overall, a dependable, well made and portable stand that I use daily.

  • Not enough height adjustability for the 2nd tier

I need this to hold 2 keyboards that I will play while sitting down. I am unable to lower the tier 2-keyboard to a position that is comfortable for me to use while sitting. There is not enough height adjustability for the 2nd tier. My tier 2 keyboard only has 61 keys. My only options for positioning the tier 2 arms leaves the upper level keyboard too far up while I am sitting.

I needed a two-tier stand for my home studio. I knew I wouldn't be breaking it down and setting it up on gigs, and it's built well enough for that. It's more heavy-duty than you'd think at this price and looks good. Barely fits my Behringer Poly D width-wise, so check your specs before ordering. Nice and stable for my heavier main keyboard. Also folds down fairly compactly.

  • Very solid, doesn't adjust quite low enough

This is surprisingly solid for the price. The base part is very easy to adjust, once you figure out which direction to pull the knob (there were no instructions included). The upper tier adjusts but not directly up and down. You can make more of an elbow to lower it a bit, but this tilts the upper keyboard more. I wanted to set up the base one notch lower than it goes. Needed to adjust my seat a notch higher than I would prefer. Very tempted to drill out another hole in the round part in the center some day. Everything was in good shape with just one minor scratch that isn't noticeable.

I needed a two tier keyboard stand of quality but at a low price point. Pro line has been a company whose products are reliable. The stand is very stable and sets up quickly. My only issue is I would have liked the upper tier to be height adjustable.

  • Perfect!!! Exactly what I needed
