The PreSonus PD-70 dynamic cardioid microphone is designed to capture the natural sound of the human voice. Whether you're starting your first podcast, telling your YouTube subscribers about the latest trends or running a program for your local volunteer radio station from your living room, the PD-70 provides exceptional vocal reproduction for broadcast applications. Its tailored frequency response and cardioid polar pattern ensure your voice comes through with nuance and character. The PD-70 rejects unwanted off-axis sounds to minimize issues from room acoustics, allowing you to set up your studio wherever inspiration strikes. The PD-70 is a professional-grade microphone rugged enough for a lifetime of creative pursuits.

Superior Clarity for Spoken Word

The PD-70's frequency response is tailored specifically for capturing the human voice with clarity and warmth. It reduces mechanical noise and breathiness, allowing the natural timbre of your voice to shine through. Whether you speak with power and projection, or prefer a more intimate vocal style, the PD-70 translates your voice authentically for your listeners.

Cardioid Polar Pattern Isolates Your Voice

With a tight cardioid polar pattern, the PD-70 rejects sounds from the sides and rear, minimizing issues from room acoustics and ambient noise. Only sounds from directly in front of the microphone are captured, allowing you to set up your studio anywhere without concern for unwanted reverb or outside interference. Your voice is isolated, with maximum clarity and control.

Roadworthy Design for Versatile Use

The PD-70's rugged yet lightweight design makes it suitable for use anywhere your creativity takes you. Its hardened steel grille and die-cast chassis stand up to heavy use on the road or in the studio. The included swiveling mic clip allows quick positioning and locks securely to any mic stand. A removable foam windscreen reduces plosives for optimal vocal recording. Create your podcast, start your YouTube channel or get your community radio show on the air—the PD-70 provides professional-grade performance wherever your voice needs to be heard.

I am a music producer with a very small home studio. I needed a dynamic mic that wouldn't pick up all the reflections in the tiny room. This does just that! The sound quality is great, with a smooth top end, a nice controlled low end and crisp mids (can mids be crisp?) would absolutely recommend this dynamic mic to anyone, whether they're on a tight budget or not. Keep in mind that it's going to need a lot more gain, so be prepared to either purchase an in-line preamp or crank the gain up on your interface/mixer. I'm doing the latter and it works fine, it's not an overly noisy mic at all.
