This cabinet is great for a first timer, but if you have owned other higher quality cabinet this cabinet is lacking. A Mesa or Orange ppc4x12 Eats this up. It also doesn't handle low tuning because it gets really muddy. I will say a Marshall head sounds best with this!
Amazing sound quality

This cabinet is slightly smaller than the ppc412, however the sound it can produce is very clear and full. It doesn't have the celestion vintage 30's but I wouldn't hesitate to run these voice of the world speakers in any performance. The cabinet is very solid and good looking and I don't foresee any reason I would ever need to replace it. I am actually considering a second cabinet to make full stack.

An Orange Away

An awesome cab, very well made and transport friendly for a 412, 240Watt cabinet. I was pairing the cab w/ my CR120H. I played many hours hoping to break in or loosen up the speakers a bit. For me the harshness and midrange was just too distinguished or prominent. I could compensate by lowering the guitars and amp's tone controls halfway but lost to much on the high and low end of the guitar. I kept switching between an 8Ohm 410 Marshall cab (140watts) to the 16Ohm Orange cab. The Marshall 8Ohm cab was louder, richer and all frequencies were much more favorable to the ear w/ the same settings on the head. For me a lower wattage cab may have been the answer (120-200Watt)so they could be pushed at a lower volume, tube or solid state. I returned the CR pro 412. G.C. was very helpful ordering and returning my purchase.

Is this model closed back? What's the difference in sound from the bigger more expensive model with the vintage 30's
This cabinet has a closed back. These speakers sound good but Vintage 30 speakers would feature more detailed and complex overtones, a warm low-end and famously rich mid-range.submitted5 years ago
