The EP-3 is a robust and reliable universal expression pedal designed to work with any keyboard, synthesizer, or pedal with an expression or CV input. It features a newly designed cam system with extremely smooth performance and durability, a polarity switch that ensures compatibility with non-Moog products, a scalable output knob for specifying musical range, and a ¼" output jack on the front panel that allows you to use the supplied 6.5' cable, or select a different cable length that perfectly suits your needs.

The EP-3 is built to withstand the rigors of daily abuse and touring, while providing the action and feel you need for precise, musical expression. When paired with Minifooger or Moogerfooger analog effects, the EP-3 unlocks new dimensions of sonic possibilities.

Excellent expression pedal and value

If you're lucky enough to have a synthesizer with an expression pedal input - this works perfectly with a Korg Micro X. I was using an Ernie Ball stereo volume pedal with A out TR shorted, and A in connected to the Micro X. The EB is an audio taper pedal so all the action is in the last centimeter of throw. The Moog EP-3 works as it should with linear taper, gradual control over the range of throw. It has a solid feel yet won't break your foot when you drop it like the Ernie ball would. It's strong enough to be dependable with the combination plastic/steel construction.

Cheap plastic

The enclosure is solid but the pedal feels cheap and plastic. To make matters worse there is a noticeable plastic knock when driving downwards, even gently. Upon inspection the pads are too shallow. It was just pretty disappointing in general. From MOOG I'd expect more for the price.

This petal is built like a tank. It has a polarity switch which allows it to be used with many different keyboards, it also has a limit control knob to set parameters, and has a jack port for the cord so if it goes bad you can just replace the cord and not the whole unit. It will hold up to heavy abuse very solid for musicians on a budget.

  • Seems to be a solid quality product.

Would this pedal work as an expression pedal that could be hooked up to a Katana 100 MKII or the GCFCEX pedal?
