collapse expand iconDescription

The Martin GPCX2E X Series cocobolo left-handed grand performance acoustic-electric guitar blends vintage looks with modern playability. Its slim, lightweight body design offers comfort and easy playability on stage or in studio. The GPCX2E features a solid spruce top and stylish cocobolo pattern high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides for added durability without sacrificing Martin's signature balanced and resonant tone.

Slim, Lightweight Body Design Offers Comfort and Easy Playability

The GPCX2E's slimmer body depth and thoughtfully contoured edges make playing for long periods effortless. Its lightweight build also makes it easy to transport to gigs or the studio. The grand performance body strikes an ideal balance of projection and rich low end, with articulate note separation even when strumming full chords. The cutaway expands your tonal palette by granting comfortable access to the highest frets.

Spruce Top and Cocobolo HPL Back/Sides Create Balanced, Resonant Tone

The GPCX2E's solid spruce top produces a clear, balanced tone with excellent resonance and articulation. Its stunning cocobolo pattern high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides offer the esthetic of exotic wood with added protection against cracks and warping from humidity changes. Together they create Martin's signature warm, balanced tone. The GPCX2E sounds fantastic whether plugged in or playing acoustically.

PA Profile Neck and Beveled Fingerboard Suit Steel-String Players

The GPCX2E's Performing Artist profile neck has a comfortable asymmetrical shape that feels fast and smooth, while the fingerboard's gentle bevel makes chord changes seamless. With its 1-3/4" nut width and 25.4" scale length, the GPCX2E plays like a familiar steel-string acoustic. The slim neck profile and beveled edges help your fretting hand glide up and down the neck with ease.

Onboard EQ Controls Shape Tone for Any Playing Situation

The Martin E-1 electronics give you tonal control right from the guitar. Adjust the bass, midrange and treble response with the onboard tone control to sculpt your ideal amplified sound. Cut through the mix by engaging the phase switch or dial back the volume knob for more headroom. A chromatic tuner is also built-in, letting you tune silently on stage or in practice. Whether you're performing solo gigs or playing in a loud band, the GPCX2E's EQ controls let you tweak your tone on the fly.
