Marshall

collapse expand iconDescription

In a nutshell, the Marshall all-valve, 2-channel JVM205C 50-Watt tube combo amp is a 2-channel version of the most versatile Marshall amplifier ever made. Each of this combo amp's 2 channels are completely independent of each other, and they boast 3 Modes, all 6 of which are footswitchable and feature their own unique gain structure. It makes the JVM 2-channel effectively 6 Marshalls in one!

The JVM205C has studio-quality digital reverb with a level control for each channel. This is also footswitchable, as are the amp's two Master Volume controls and the Series/Parallel effects loop. Resonance and Presence are equipped with master controls.

An ingenious footswitch (UK patent pending) and the fact all the amp's switching (channel/modes, Reverb, Master Volume selection, FX loop) can be done via MIDI and you're looking at an incredibly flexible amp! The 4-way footswitch boasts LEDs and memory, plus it connects to the amp via a regular guitar cable.

From the cleanest clean to the filthiest distortion ever found in a Marshall and all points in-between, the JVM205C all-valve combo amp will give you whatever tone you need right when you need it.

Had a JVM-205C in the past and loved it, but had to part for reasons beyond my control. I began a quest to find something comparable in terms of sound quality with a lower price tag, but in the end there was no comparison to the sound I get from a JVM-205C and my LP. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. The secret sauce for my rig is adding an M102 Dyna Comp in front and a Holy Grail Nano & TC Electronic Delay in the loop. I'm back in heaven as the whole experience has made me appreciate this combo even more since I'm lucky enough to own it twice. I play mostly rock (Maiden, Priest, Rush, Sabbath, Tool) and can find every sound in there mostly on the OD Green channel. The key is keeping the treble around 10 o'clock and mids / bass down low. For early Sabbath, I'll switch to clean and use a Sabbra Cadabra (Dynam Comp off) and instant Iommi.

I love Marshall amps but this one is a terrible product. Bought one and broke down after one week. Got it replaced. Replacement broke down in less than one day. Having said that, Guitar Center was very helpful when it came to replacing the item. I ended up getting a Orange Rocker amp.

I have only owned this a short time but I absolutely love this amp. Lots of control throughout both channels. It has that great Marshall overdrive and also fantastic clean tones. In fact, I am using it more for blues/SRV tones than full on metal overdrive. My prior amp was a Mess which was a good amp but the tonal range on this is far superior.

Marshalls are famous for the Marshall sound. I've never really used one up until now. What attracted me to this amp is the simple foot switch from clean, crunch and roar and a few in between. I've got the delay and chorus in the FX loop and thats it. It's heavy but a small price to pay, so-far I love it.

It really sounds good and has all the eq, gain and volume knobs needed to get the sound I want. The one problem is that it doesn't seem to take od pedals well. It was very hard to keep it from crapping out. I tried 10 tube screamer type pedals to find the one that worked best and got it adjusted and I did find a setting that works. It does sound great and I do like the amp a lot. all in all. I'm happy with it.

Ok...Bought this amp early in year 09 from guitar center. Sounded great at first, but now the o.d channel doesn't work. Called guitar center, they gave me a phone number for Marshall...they don't respond by phone or e-mail....anyway it was a great sounding amp,and still is on the clean channel, but if you want crunching gain...its a paperweight.....

Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what the blemish is. However, it would only be a minor cosmetic flaw and would not effect the amplifiers functionality.
