Returned this head 1 week after receiving it. I found I constantly had to mess with the preset. I was messing with the amp more than I was playing. I could get a ok sound but nothing really good. You will not confuse this amp tone with the classic Marshall amps it claims to replicate. My Marshall MG's with a boost pedal sound better than this thing. I do not recommend it.

Comments about Marshall CODE 100W Guitar Amp Head:

I have the Marshall Code 50 Combo and it sounded so good, I purchased the Code 100H, planning to use it with my two Marshall Haze MHZ112 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinets. I was underwhelmed. The Code 50 sounded better.

Knowing Marshal is not that inept, I discovered they made a 2x12 and and 4x12 cabinet that matches the Code Modeling) Amps. These aren't the only cabinets that make this head sing. I took the head to the guitar store and tried a number of Marshall speaker cabinets that really brought out the tone and power of this head.

Don't pay attention to reviews where people don't think about what they are doing before reaching a conclusion.

          This is a GREAT head!

Comments about Marshall CODE 100W Guitar Amp Head:

These amps are perfect for home, or small venue events. If you're looking for that "tube" sound, Marshall really came close with the on-board presets, and overall sound of these amps. Even the "knock-off" guitars from overseas come to life when plugged in. Highly recommend these amps, and for the price - how can you go wrong!!

Comments about Marshall CODE 100W Guitar Amp Head:

This amp has great Marshall tones as well as American and British sounds. Bluetooth in combination with the Marshall Gateway app makes it easier to adjust the amp remotely and save changes to your smart phone. If you get the optional Stompware footswitch, you can toggle distortion/clean with one button so you don't have to tap dance between separate buttons when switching. Things I don't like are: slight delay when switching channels with the Stompware footswitch if the next channel isn't based on the same amp model/speaker cabinet model. The master volume is pre-effects loop, which doesn't allow adjustment of volume levels between amp loop mode and effects mode when used in conjunction with Digitech RP1000. This won't effect most users but I have to buy an after market volume controller to run in series in the effects loop to remedy this problem. If I could, I would give this amp 3.5 stars instead of 4 because of the above mentioned issues.

I am constantly impressed with this amp. It's a Swiss army knife of tone! Yeah you can hear the noise gate at times..but clear, loud, proud and present there's a lot of options I use the jtm 45 settings currently. But the jvm800 has amazing sustain on the notes.. it's Brite. Honestly I wanted a should state to kick on an practice with this does that plus... Oh and it's a Bluetooth speaker thru your cab music sounds better thru your speakers..

I have only scratched the surface on the recording potential for this unit. At first I wasn't too impressed with the sounds, but the subtle tones stand out and provide a reasonable price for the budgeted guitarist.

I hated it. Sorry. I wanted to like it but it is no where near the quality of the mustang v.2 amp by fender. I returned this and ordered a line 6 spider valve hd100 mkII tube head.

Right to the point, this head is VERY disappointing. Question to Marshall, why in the world would you emulate speaker cabinets on a head? The presets are terrible. I have the Blackstar ID:150 head, which is much easier to use and the sound quality isn't even close. Even the LIne6 head that I have played sound better then this thing. Its going back. Sorry Marshall, I will stick with my JCM800 and DSL when I want Marshall.
