Introducing the Maestro Original Collection
Description
The Maestro Discoverer Delay adds old-school cool to your pedalboard with heritage style and sounds. It combines the warmth of an analog circuit with an intuitive 3-knob layout, making it easy to find repeats to enhance—and not compete—with your signal. A modulation toggle adds wow and flutter to replicate the sound of vintage tape units. And with a wide range of delay time, the Discover can cover simple slapbacks to massive, cathedral-like echoes. It's so musical, you'll find yourself going back to this pedal—available now at Guitar Center—again and again.
The Maestro Discoverer Delay is all-analog
Maestro built the Discoverer Delay with an analog "bucket brigade" circuit for a warmer, more organic sound—especially compared to a digital delay. It has 20 to 600 ms of delay time. For rockabilly-style slapback, turn the Delay dial to three o'clock. The Edge from U2 hovers around nine o'clock; that's also where you'll find David Gilmour on "Comfortably Numb." Sustain sets the number of repeats, while Mix balances the wet sound with the dry signal.
The Discoverer Delay pedal sounds like tape—when you want it
Flip the toggle switch to Mod-On to engage modulation on the Discoverer Delay. It adds wow and flutter to simulate the mechanical irregularity of a magnetic tape delay, just like the original Maestro Echoplex. For more sonic manipulation, adjust the two internal trim pots to control the modulation speed and sweep range.
The Discoverer Delay keeps your signal clean
While a vintage Maestro tape delay colors the signal even when the effect is off, the Discoverer Delay has a true-bypass switch. It's also easy to tell when the effect is on—three LEDs light up the Maestro logo. To turn the pedal off completely, just unplug the input. It runs on a 9V battery, or an optional 9V power supply.
