Ibanez Axion Label Electric Guitar featuring Once N For All

Ibanez

collapse expand iconDescription

The Ibanez RGD71ALMS Axion Label Multi-Scale 7-string electric guitar is a revolutionary instrument built for progressive metal players, and any guitarist looking to push creative boundaries. Featuring a 27"–25.5" multi-scale design, active Fishman Fluence pickups, and an ultrafast Nitro Wizard neck, the Axion Label Multi-Scale delivers an intense tone with extended range and enhanced playability.

Multi-Scale Neck Provides Optimal String Tension

The Axion Label Multi-Scale's graduated, multi-scale fretboard provides calibrated string tension for each string resulting in superior intonation and articulation. The longer 27" scale on the bass strings produces tight, focused low end, while the 25.5" scale on the treble strings allows for comfortable bending and fretting. This innovative design makes 7-string playing feel natural and inspiring.

Fishman Fluence Pickups Provide Aggressive Tone

The Axion Label Multi-Scale features a pair of active Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker pickups that provide an aggressive, powerful tone without excess noise. The Ceramic bridge pickup delivers tight, punchy attack, while the neck pickup produces warm, rich sustain. A push-pull Voice switch on the master volume control lets you choose from two distinct voicings for each pickup.

Fast, Ultrathin Nitro Wizard Neck

The Axion Label Multi-Scale's Nitro Wizard 5-piece panga panga/walnut neck is designed for high-speed playing with a thin profile and flat, 12"–16" compound radius. Jumbo frets, a Macassar ebony fretboard, and offset dot inlays complete the premium appointments on this performance-focused neck.

Premium Components and Styling

From the Gotoh locking tuners and Mono-rail bridge to the luminescent side dots and Ibanez logo, every detail of the Axion Label Multi-Scale is optimized for functionality and modern metal style. With a lightweight nyato body, slanted frets and deep cutaways for upper-fret access, this guitar is built to inspire technical mastery.

Ridiculously Good

This is an absolute killer in every aspect. It looks incredible. You wouldn't believe the different colors that come out of this thing in different light and different angles, and since it's more of a shiny satin finish than a gloss, it doesn't show any dirt or fingerprints, so it pretty much always looks pristine and beautiful. It sounds incredible. Bright, melodic cleans, creamy leads, and when you start to crank your distortion and overdrive, it can deliver uncomprimising brutality while sacrificing nothing in clarity or definition. Fishmans are the real deal, folks. It feels incredible. Nice, fast attack on your low strings and light, easy tension on your high strings. Neck is comfortable, fanned frets feel good, and two-hand tapping is easier than I've ever experienced. Finally, the features. The luminescent logo and side dots definitely look cool, but they only glow super bright when you hold them under a bright light for a bit, and then they fade pretty quickly. I honestly can't see them being all that helpful when you're playing in the dark. The two-way voicing switch is basically a substitute for the traditional tone knob. Honestly I don't miss the knob, on my other guitars I pretty much only had them in two positions anyway, all the way up or all the way down, anything inbetween and you couldn't really hear a difference, so this is a good way to keep things simple. The pickup switch is a bit odd for me, the forward position puts you on the bridge pickup and the back position puts you on neck pickup, which is the opposite of every other guitar I've ever owned or held, but it's not a problem. It also does not get in the way of your strumming as it might look like. The real stars of the show are the locking tuners. They're great, they make restringing and tuning this thing a breeze, and the strings virtually never go out of tune despite me brutalizing them with my exaggerated string bending. It's one dope axe, my friends.

Nice looking but

Sprouting frets so expect to spend 200 to fix it so it's playable. Very disappointed put it back on the hanger. If you spend 1200 you should have to do any fixing to the instrument

The colors on this guitar are beautiful in person. The guitar feels very comfortable standing strapped and the multiscale frets feel very natural. I thought 7 strings would be a reach with my short fingers but it's not difficult at all. Tone sounds great to me, but I'm a novice bedroom player with only virtual amps on my pc.

If you adjust the neck itself to give the proper tension and purchase heavy gauge strings you may be able to.

I know this question doesn't pertain to product quality, but will Ibanez be producing, and shipping more of the RGD71ALMS guitars?

I really like them from what I have read, but I don't want to get my heart set on something when they won't be making anymore.
