Guild Westerly Collection
The Westerly Collection pays homage to an important period in Guild’s early history, when Guild outgrew the beloved Hoboken, New Jersey factory, and moved production to Westerly, Rhode Island, in 1967. Finding a home in a former furniture manufacturing building, Guild took advantage of the additional space this new location had to offer, and improved upon the production layout left behind in Hoboken.
With a fresh start, highly skilled employees and plenty of room to grow, Guild flourished. It was not long before the Westerly factory became renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, quality and the introduction of many beloved Guild acoustics. The dedication to innovation was apparent, with meticulous attention to detail. Inspired by this golden era, the Guild Westerly Collection carries on the tradition of impeccable workmanship and unwavering excellence by incorporating high-quality materials and classic Guild designs into each instrument.

Guild still has what it takes to make a Great Guitar
Guild Guitars have always had a special place in my heart since I purchased my first Guild in 1969, a beautiful D 50 model. It was a fabulous guitar that I cherished for many years. However with the passing of time I find that I now do most of my playing, even at gigs, sitting down. Also with age the thick Dreadnought shape is proving to be a little uncomfortable for me to play for long periods. Now I find that the 000 and OM body size fits me more comfortably but are still large enough not to sacrifice too much of the warmth sound that I enjoy. I presently own a Martin 000 which I love but was still looking for a guitar that offered a full 25,5 scale like my Dreadnought. I think the larger scale adds more dimension to the sound of the instrument. My search lead me back to my old favorite brand Guild. At my local Guitar Center I found the guitar that fulfilled all my requirements. A guild OM 240 CE. The sales associate searched and found a brand new OM still in the box and brought it out for me to try. Now I am usually very critical of instruments straight from the factory as most need a set up and come with a heaver gauge of strings than I prefer. However I was pleasantly surprised when I started to play this guitar. The action and set up was almost perfect and the guitar's projection and balanced tone was amazing. The frets were well dressed and the finish was well applied. The nut was cut perfectly and the saddle would need only minor adjustment. Next I plugged the guitar in to a Fishman Loude Box Mini amp. The sound of the guitar amplified was really impressive. The sound was full-bodied with an impressive with a tonal balanced and response. This is definitely an instrument suitable for live performance. Over the next days I played the guitar extensively. The only change I made was switching out the D'Addario 12 gage strings that came on the guitar with D'Addario 11 custom light strings. Guild has done it again and provided me with the perfect instrument for accommodate needs. I have been playing guitar now for over 60 years both professionally and a music enthusiast and in my opinion this guitar provides the perfect solution for those players who are looking for an alternative to a larger bodied instrument.

I knew better.
After a couple days of playing it, I thought for sure it was my go to acoustic. The last time I played it, i set it down to do something, and idk five minutes later, i hear what sounds like a rock hitting my guitar and I think wt!? seriously, its a shocking sound. I look at the guitar and it looks ok?? As I'm wondering what it could be that made that crash, BANG! One more time! As I look again, i see a huge crack on the top starting under the bridge and stopping at the bottom egde. In fear of the guitar imploding, i took equal tension off each string and immediately packed up guitar. Sending it back today. That guild would be PERFECT (for me anyway) if they used better glue or enough glue or bracing. Could be any number of things. It has an OM size that is just awesome just like my Martin OMCPa4, it has beautiful tone and feel, warmth, and it sounds a lot better when not plugged in, unless you have an eq. and if you don't look too close, its just a beautiful guitar. The inlay around sound hole was hi-lo where ends meet. If not for the poor quality in workmanship (thats including the material buyer, and qc) this guitar would be killer. I got it on stupid deal smh as Im looking back, I don't think I've ever bought something on stupid deal and said yes!!! This was a great deal! No its just another stupid deal for a cheap guy like me. Im positive I'll be the recipient of many more stupid deals to come. Im sure for my bad one, there are many satisfied people that got a great deal on a great guitar. So as im sending it back, i see a Taylor 214k-ce deluxe for an awesome price!!! BANG i pulled the trigger and just bought the d@$n thing smh. Dad believed, it cost more, but buy quality and you will be happy the first time. So true. OHHH the packing Is absolutely horrible. A piece of round paper one each side. Nothing on bottom. absolute minimal packing material in a box inside a box. Easiest guitar to unbox and play ever!!! Almost zero trash!!

I've owned this guitar for 12 months as of today and I can truly say that I've loved it for all of this time. I haven't had a single issue with it and I've learned so much with it. It has a great sound, the action is great and I think it even becomes easier to play as you use it. I'm happy that I went with Guild and I'd recommend this guitar to any beginner.

Was looking for a smaller guitar to try compared to the dreads I often play. This one packs a lot of punch for its smaller size. Very resonant and alive. Came with nice fretwork and good action. Electronics sound fine but I'd prefer to be able to see the settings.

I was using a friend's guitar that cost five times as much as this Guild and, when I'd received this, preferred the sound and playability of this Guild. The projection and tone are perfect for my taste!
