Description
The Gibson Kirk Hammett Greenybucker humbucker pickup set is instantly recognizable from a sonic perspective. The distinctive sound of these pickups is partially from the out-of-phase middle switch position due to the neck pickup’s reverse magnetic polarity. The Greenybucker pickup set was developed with input from Greeny’s current owner, Kirk Hammett, and with specifications taken from the humbucker pickups on the world-renowned “Greeny” Les Paul, including asymmetrical coil windings and unpolished Alnico 2 magnets.
The Gibson humbucker pickups from the 1950s are considered by many musicians to be the “holy grail” of vintage electric guitar pickups. Among them, the unique set that was installed in the legendary “Greeny” Les Paul is among of the most famous.
As featured on the Gibson USA Kirk Hammett “Greeny” Les Paul. Developed with Kirk Hammett’s guidance and with specs taken from the actual Patent Applied For pickups on the Greeny Les Paul. The rhythm pickup features reverse magnetic polarity for the signature Greeny sound.
