Fender's American Performer Stratocaster delivers the exceptional tone and feel you expect from an authentic Fender—with enhancements that inspire creativity. The American Performer Strat includes Yosemite single-coil pickups, designed for rich, expressive tones ideal for any musical situation. With flat-staggered pole pieces to increase output and a shellac coating controlling feedback, Yosemite pickups let your musicality shine through.

Unlock New Tonal Possibilities

The American Performer Strat's push-pull tone control adds the neck pickup in any switch position, unlocking musically useful tones. Fender's Greasebucket circuit rolls off highs without reducing gain. A 5-way blade switch and master volume/tone controls give you tonal versatility.

Comfort and Playability

The American Performer Strat's Modern C-shaped maple neck and 9.5" radius rosewood fingerboard suit any playing style. 22 jumbo frets make bending effortless and accurate. A vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge, synthetic bone nut and die-cast tuners keep you in tune.

Quality Craftsmanship

The American Performer Strat's alder body provides balanced, resonant tone. A satin polyurethane finish protects the body and neck while highlighting the woodgrain. Nickel/chrome hardware and a silver '70s logo complete the package. The truss rod is accessible at the headstock for easy neck relief adjustments.

Inspiring and Accessible

The American Performer Strat delivers an inspiring playing experience at an accessible price and an ideal combination of tradition and modernity for today's guitarist.

Sweeet Strat

Flawless finish and nicely polished fret ends. The wood grain faintly showing through the seal coat is beautiful. The craftsmanship is on par with my American Professional II Tele. Setup out of the box was good. I'm not a very good player but the sound is really nice through my 15W tube amp - I like the 2 extra positions from the pull knob. I have thick paws with chubby fingers so I appreciate the slim neck profile, just wish there was an option for 1.75" nut without having to custom order the neck. Overall, this is a great guitar and I would recommend it anyone wanting an American made strat. A little disappointed with the gig bag quality as it isn't much better than the bags for high end Squiers.

Save Your Money

Love the 70's headstock, but the guitar feels and sounds cheap. Save up a few more dollars and buy an Ultra, or better yet, get the Clapton! My 2 MIM Strats sound and feel better than this. This should be a $500 guitar and not worth a penny more. I do not recommend it.

After reading a review about how "loose" the guitar was out of the box, I was afraid I would have to wait on a setup before taking it to practice. After I unpacked it, a quick look showed promise. It wasn't that far out of tune but the new strings took forever to tune. The action was great for me. Believe it or not, the intonation was close to perfect! Someone took time to set this up well before they shipped it. It sounds great through my Mustang LT25 amp too. Of course, time will tell. Oh! It's beautiful too. My other strat has a maple fretboard. I'm looking forward to learning the differences. I'm taking it to rehearsal this weekend. I don't care if tuning it a few times slows us down.

I bought a used one of these. It's probably the 40th or 50th Strat I've owned - and I've owned Strats from many periods of production. I'm a "neck position" player and play a clean jazz sound. I also own and actively play Renaissance lute and a variety of Spanish luthier classical guitars, including Otto Vowinkel and Jose Ramirez. So, I'm a snob about tone and playability. I really like this Strat. It is very playable and has an open, bright tone. As well, it has defined 2 and 4 position tone and the expected bridge and middle pickup tone. This Strat will remain part of the collection and will get a lot of playing. So, for the naysayers - just quit being a gearhead and play your guitar.

I've purchased several guitars over the years and I really like this guitar. It is a keeper. The action is a bit high, but it doesn't really affect playability. I get beautiful tones out of it. I love the color! The whammy is a plus to have and will change your playing style.

On Fenders site they list the White as "Arctic White" but here on GC it says "Aged White" - so which one is it? Doesn't look Aged to me.

Not currently. This is only available online. But you can order it and have it shipped to the store. You can try it out then and there, and if you don't like it you can simply return it.
