Ernie Ball's Earthwood 80/20 Custom Light Bronze acoustic guitar strings blend brightness and warmth for a crisp yet balanced tone. Featuring an innovative half-gauge design, these strings make intricate fingerpicking and complex chords equally comfortable and resonant. Constructed of 80% copper and 20% zinc wire wrapped around a brass-plated steel core, Earthwood 80/20 Bronze strings sing with clarity and sustain.

Half Gages Enable Nuanced Control

With gauges of .0115 to .054, Earthwood 80/20 Custom Light Bronze strings give players more options to shape their ideal tone. The lighter top strings allow effortless bends and slides, while the heavier bass strings provide full low-end resonance. This balance of flexibility and projection makes these strings ideal for singer-songwriters, recording artists and any guitarist seeking highly responsive acoustic tone.

80/20 Bronze for Warmth and Brightness

An 80/20 copper-zinc alloy wrap gives Earthwood 80/20 Custom Light Bronze strings a balanced tone that rings with overtones. The zinc content adds crispness, while copper provides midrange warmth. This blend of metals produces acoustic tone that cuts through mixes with articulate highs and rich lows. For recording or live performance, these strings faithfully capture the natural resonance of any acoustic guitar.

Built to Last

With a brass-plated steel core and corrosion-resistant 80/20 bronze wrap, Earthwood 80/20 Custom Light Bronze strings are built for durability. The hex-shaped core provides more surface area for the wrap wire to adhere to, creating an ultra-secure bond that withstands heavy play. Finished with a tin plating, the plain steel strings also resist rust and maintain tone over time. For acoustic guitarists seeking strings that balance great tone and long life, Earthwood 80/20 Custom Light Bronze is the ideal choice.

I experimented with lots of string brands early on in my guitar journey, which began almost 30 years ago. I finally landed on a brand I liked best and used them for many years until I decided to give Ernie Ball a try. I'm glad I did. They're every bit as good (if not better) than what I was using. I've been using them for around eight years now. They sound and feel great, last a long time, and they don't break the bank either. I recently decided to put these 11.5-54 gauge strings on my acoustic to give my hands a bit of a break (down from 12s), and I'm super happy with how they feel and sound. I don't feel like I've sacrificed tone by going down half a gauge. Now, I've got some 9.5s on the way to try out on my electrics (going down from 10s).

  • An amazing product for the price

I change string every 2 months and if you are a beginner, this strings are pretty good for you. And even for professional. I always have an extra pack of this just in case I brake one during a performance.

I like the feel and sound of them. Not as "tight" of a Daddario tention.

  • Great product and great value during high inflation
