I've been playing bass over 35 years and wish these strings were around in the 70's and 80's. These strings are by far the way to go. I buy the heavy gauge (110 E string). The tone, sustain and extra loudness make it a no brainer when it comes to choosing new strings - RC

I got this set to give it a try on Drop C tuning. They are smooth like they say, they are loud like they say, and yes it has the clarity they claim. I tend to EQ my bass preamp a bit more treblely (bass 40% / treble 60%) because I like the pick alike attack it gives when playing finger style. About feel, they feel like nickel plated strings, but with sharp (or sharper) attack of stainless steel. You can dial all styles of genres with this strings, but when using a pick and some distortion, I can achieve the Justin Chancellor tone, and Geddy Lee's tone when using fingerstyle.
