The Ernie Ball 2251 strings continue the brand's legacy of crafting high-quality, affordable strings that shaped the sound of rock music.
Pure Nickel Wire for Warmth and Sustain
The Ernie Ball 2251 strings are made of pure nickel wire, which produces a full, warm tone with rich overtones and excellent sustain. The nickel wrap wire is tightly and evenly wound around the steel hex core of each string, maximizing vibration transmission for resonant, balanced sound. The nickel also helps prevent premature oxidation, allowing the strings to retain tone and playability for a long time.

Ernie Ball is renowned for their meticulous and innovative approach to string crafting. The 2251 Regular Slinky Classic Rock and Roll Pure Nickel Wrap strings are manufactured to the strictest tolerances and specs to ensure consistency, reliability and peak performance for all musicians. The tin-plated high-carbon steel cores and nickel windings are made to precise gauges for balanced tension and intonation across the set. This precision results in strings that feel and sound as intended for outstanding playability and tone.
Versatile and Comfortable Regular Slinky Gages
The Ernie Ball 2251 Regular Slinky Classic Rock and Roll Pure Nickel Wrap strings feature the popular Regular Slinky gauges of .010, .013, .017, .026, .036 and .046. This versatile set provides comfortable tension and familiar feel for most electric guitarists. The gauges are optimized for standard tuning but also work well for drop tunings. The Regular Slinky gauges have been used to create iconic rock tones for over 50 years and remain a go-to choice for guitar players at all skill levels.

Great strings, beware the High E
First, these strings are great, they are very versatile, you can play anything with them. I play metal in my personal time, and Jazz in my school band, and they sound wonderful. But before you walk out of the store, pick up an extra High E string or another set of these strings, no matter how slowly you raise the pitch, this one string is VERY VERY likely to break. I have in fact gone through three strings before I even got to a high D. Other than that, these are great.

Not good for tremolo guitars.
I changed my strings often. First time using these strings. The high E string broke while tuning tremolo/Floyd Rose. (Brand New strings) And they are turning back and corroding way to fast. I play my guitar with clean hands and keep it case when not in use. So I don't recommend Ernie ball rock and roll 10/46 strings.

I'm enjoying the feel and specifically the tone of these. I have some currently on my Tele and the pure nickel windings help in taming the high end of the pickups. Like all Ernie Ball strings they are quality and my go to for any string changes I need! Old school feel and modern reliability

Much different feel to these strings. Not sure I like them as much as the regular slinky strings. Price is very competitive.

I play with tens for the feel , tone , sustain. Price wasn't an issue as erni ball regular slinky have always been reasonably priced. Breakage has not been a problem for me, I change my strings every gig . I tried these pure nickel strings and have not found a significant difference so for a dollar less the regular slinky wins over these.
