Great strings, beware the High E

By The UBER guitarist

from Ohio

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

First, these strings are great, they are very versatile, you can play anything with them. I play metal in my personal time, and Jazz in my school band, and they sound wonderful. But before you walk out of the store, pick up an extra High E string or another set of these strings, no matter how slowly you raise the pitch, this one string is VERY VERY likely to break. I have in fact gone through three strings before I even got to a high D. Other than that, these are great.

    my favorite strings

    By Greg

    from Florida

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

i had always been a fan of the regular ernie ball nickel round wound strings then i tried these and they feel and sound so much better. these have a more vintage tone and sound way better in the higher frets when you bend. way better than any other brand and better that other ernie ball strings too. strings have not broken and they last a long time without loosing their quality tone.

String breakage is your guitars fault

    By The Repair Hobbit

    from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

If your high e string is breaking so consistently, I can guarantee that the problem is your bridge or nut on your guitar. Go have your guitar set up and diagnosed by a professional. These strings are great and will give you a very musical and balanced tone. Nickel-wrapped strings can be a little metallic and brittle, especially playing through bright amps.

    Great little pedal!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

This pedal is pretty high gain, with a really tight sound...good for chugging chords. The only issue some people won't like is that this pedal is a "fixed gain" pedal; you can't adjust the amount of gain. However, with the tone controls and the Rage knob, you can dial in a lot of sounds. The Rage knob acts as an EQ...it adds or takes away the mids a bit. Overall, for the price, it's a great little pedal!
