collapse expand iconDescription

The Epiphone Les Paul Special-I Electric Guitar Player Pack provides everything needed to plug in and play. This complete beginner bundle includes a Les Paul Special-I electric guitar, Electar 10 amp, guitar cable, strap, picks, clip-on tuner and a gig bag. The Special-I guitar has a mahogany body and bolt-on mahogany neck for a full, resonant tone. Its dual open-coil Epiphone 700T and 650R humbucker pickups deliver a range of rock sounds. Combined with a 10W Electar amp, this pack is ideal for practice and jamming.

Iconic Les Paul Design and Feel

Modeled after the legendary Gibson Les Paul, the Special-I has a solid mahogany body and bolt-on mahogany neck for balanced tone and sustain. Its 21-fret fingerboard provides a fast, comfortable playing feel. Two open-coil humbuckers recreate the warm, punchy tone of the original Les Paul that shaped rock music. Simply flip the 3-way pickup selector to switch between each humbucker or a combination of both.

Perfect Practice Amp for Beginners

The included Electar 10 amp delivers 10W of power through a 6" speaker, ideal for home practice. Its overdrive channel adds grit and distortion for classic rock crunch. An AUX input lets you play along to tracks from your phone or MP3 player. The amp's headphone output allows for silent practice when needed. The Special-I pack also includes an instrument cable, strap and three picks to get you started right out of the box.

Good First Guitar

The guitar is surprisingly awesome for the price, however, the amp sucked and didn't have the power I needed for a rad sound. I used a Fender Frontman 15w amp for a while (that amp isn't very good either, but better than this one) and it sounded decent. Just recently however, I got a Peavey Vypyr X1, which is a totally rad amp, and it sounds *bleep*-ing awesome. The point is, the guitar sounds really good on different amps, and is definitely a good beginner guitar. The strap it came with was pretty good up until the holes in the strap wore off, but this took like 2 years so... Anyways, this guitar was pretty good for the money, and the strap too, the picks are pretty decent and the cable for the amp sucked (i suggest getting a fender one, those are pretty decent cables). The guitars pickupscreated a perfect sound for punk, which is what I mostly play anyways, and I find that this bad boy can get the highs and lows needed for that sound, it's also excellent for blues and metal (actually a really good metal guitar as well). Anyways, this guitar is a wonderful guitar to purchase for a beginner, the pickups are stellar, and the craftsmanship is pretty decent too (except for fret buzz from the 12th fret on) This guitar didn't seem to require too much of a setup, just a restringing and a few days of tuning the *bleep* out of it. I would highly recommend this guitar if you are on a budget and just starting to learn.

Mediocre.

The guitar is diffidently a beginner guitar. The materials were okay at best and horrible at worst, It diffidently is a "cheap" guitar in every form of the word. The Amp and picks are great though. If I we're you I'd save a few bucks and get a Harley Benton instead.

    Purchased this combo for my daughter and family. Excellent deal at this price point. After setting it up and letting everyone play it there were smiles all around. Everyone is excited to learn to play. The amp is definitely the sacrifice at this price point but is a reasonable compromise as I feel the guitar is a solid beginner's instrument. Guitar has longevity as it's a solid foundation for beginners.

    Everything about the guitar is what you would expect from a humbucker equipped guitar. The amp works well, the tuner works well. I have had 0 issues.

    Got this for my 11year olds first guitar. She absolutely loves it, and has spent the last few days diving into the Gibson app as well to learn new things everyday. I would say this bundle is good value for the money if your looking to pick up something for your beginner.

    The nut width of a guitar neck doesn't vary all that much. This will be good.

    At 82, retired; bored, and lover of mostly blues guitar music, I was considering buying a beginners model to start picking up some chords and scales to see if it works for me. I have long fingers but my pinky is a bit challenged with an troublesome ulmer nerve. . . .yet somewhat/mostly useable.

Getting to the point;
While I would prefer a basic Squire Telecaster, under the circumstances. . . . would a Squier 24-Inch Short Scale Strat OR Epiphone Les Paul Special-II E1 24.75 be a better choice?

Thank you
Donald

    I’m very sorry. Your question is not clear. 24" is not short scale. We don't have a Mini Telecaster. We have Mini Strat at 22.75" That being said, the scale length doesn't affect your fingers. Go with a full scale Strat.
