Elixir

collapse expand iconDescription

Amp up your guitar’s tone life with the same premium electric guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available. Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Engineered to endure, these nickel-plated steel electric guitar strings boast a ton of bright, vibrant presence and dynamic punch. Compared to our original POLYWEB Coating, the ultrathin NANOWEB Coating allows a more traditionally textured, "uncoated" feel.

For a slicker, gentler feel, try a set of electric guitar strings with Elixir's original POLYWEB Coating, which also feature a warmer tone.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

Great Sound and Feel

As a professional musician, I have used the Elixer Brand on all my electrics from Tele's to 335's and all my acoustics from Taylors to Martins and they perform superbly every time. The feel is smooth, the sound is great, the string noise is minimum and they last long even through hard playing. The Elixer's record clean and clear in the studio. As a touring player, I have used them for years and will continue for may years to come. My advise to those that break strings, get a good quality guitar with a proper set up and your problems will be solved. Elixers are worth the money,

Great feel, not so great tone.

I use Ernie Ball Slinky 10's because they are affordable and sound good. However, I can tear through a set of those in 3 days due to the sweat my hand produces after playing for a while. I decided to try Ernie Ball Cobalts which sounded fantastic, and they did wear somewhat better, but not as long as I hoped for the price. Enter Elixer Nanowebs. They feel absolutely amazing to me, super slippery, very little string squeak, but the tone is really lacking. The coating on the strings definately takes away from the bright high end, and the bite my Strat normally has. Going from the Ernie Ball Cobalts to these was very dramatic, as the colbalts were very bright. If I could find the tone of the Cobalts with the feel of Elixers, I'd be happy, but I probably won't be buying these again. Its like shoving a sock in your guitars mouth instead of letting it sing. 5 stars for the feel and longevity, but tone gets a -5 from me.

Spent years switching and changing brands till I found these on a recommendation. I cannot begin to explain how I will never buy a different brand or type of strings again. They feel amazing, they sound amazing, and they last longer than any other strings ever. #sweepstakes

I have been using Elixir strings for about 20 years. They have a great sound and last a long time. I also don't have issues with strings breaking.

I've used these on my electrics for a few years now and they amazing. They never lose their tone, even after a couple years of frequent playing and never break, even with the aggressive bending I do. They're not the cheapest but with their long life I end up saving!

  • I just bought this again for my other guitars

I got these strings put on my guitar and it has been a game changer. The strings on this guitar feel incredible compared to the strings that come on the guitar from factory. They feel incredible and make it feel so much better to change chords when playing. I highly recommend.

I personally recommend to try this strings, at least once in life, this warm sound would never come from your mind. I'm using 10-52 for making drop D and Standard D tuning. But 10-46 also good choice for some midwest emo and math-rock tunings(FACGAE for example)

#sweepstakes. They are worth the money every time. They always feel comfortable, offer great quality and they last extremely long with little sacrifice in tone as they age.
