Casio

collapse expand iconDescription

The Casiotone CT-S1 from Casio reimagines the beloved CT-201 model that introduced music-making to the masses in 1980. The CT-S1 raises the bar with high-quality sound and a sleek yet durable build that's tailored for life on the go. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned player, this 61-key keyboard is your perfect portable partner for practice and performance.

Authentic Tones Inspire Creativity

The CT-S1's 61 high-quality tones span acoustic and electronic keyboards, stringed instruments, woodwinds, percussion and more. Dynamic sampling gives each tone an authentic character that inspires ideas. 37 effects give you the control to layer tones together, add delay and EQ, adjust temperaments and much more, right from the front panel.

Slim, Lightweight Design Goes Anywhere

Weighing under 10 pounds, the CT-S1 is the ultimate grab-and-go keyboard. Its compact body slips easily into backpacks or gig bags. AC or battery power options give you flexibility to play wherever inspiration strikes. A built-in speaker delivers full, natural sound, while a class-compliant USB-MIDI port can be used for MIDI playback via the free Casio Music Space App.

Onboard Tools Take You Further

The CT-S1 comes fully equipped to compose, practice and perform. An easy-to-use one-button recorder lets you capture ideas on the fly. The keyboard features octave shift, touch sensitivity and transposition for adapting pieces to your skill level or vocal range. Effects like reverb and chorus add dimension to your tone.

Classic Design, Modern Simplicity

The CT-S1's retro-inspired silhouette nods to Casio's musical legacy. A streamlined control panel gives quick access to tones, rhythms and tools through a simple interface that's intuitive for players of all levels. The CT-S1 blends vintage style with a contemporary minimalist aesthetic.

Serious instrument at a joke price

I bought this after listening to sound samples and watching reviews on youtube. The sound quality is surely unmatched in this price range. The grand piano sounds, the synths, keyboards, and especially the Rhodes and organ sounds, and all the others, are excellent. This keyboard is a good choice if you: Are learning the keyboard, and want a good quality sound at a budget price point Are an experienced musician looking to get a cheap practice or portable keyboard If you are very tight on space and want something that looks excellent, performs excellent, and is able to do MIDI interfacing on DAWs and notation apps. The only con I have is that some of the features on this keyboard are a little tedious to access or enable, namely programming the metronome and setting intonation and reverb effects. However, I have to say I don't really care. The fact that you can set this thing to play in Just temperament and choose the tonic far surpasses anything anywhere near this price point. If you're looking for an arranger keyboard or something that can accompany you, this is not your keyboard. The Yamaha PSRs have more features, but they feel much more like toys to me. This is more of a legitimate musical instrument. Oh, and the design is outstanding. This keyboard is gorgeous to look at, truly a masterpiece.

I would not buy again

Returned this keyboard. I did not like the way it operated with having to press a key and get a sound. It did not layer sounds. It did not sound all that good.

While there are definitely less expensive and smaller keyboards, this one is wonderful for starters. It has semi-weighted keys, not too many bells and whistles that can be rather distracting, and a beautiful red color. Can't wait to start this journey of learning chords and songs.

  • I researched this keyboard on u tube and I am very happy.

I play the guitar and purchased the keyboard to expand my musical options. I love the feel of the keys and the matte finish on them. The sound is very good and I like that it does not have all of the unnecessary sound options that some keyboards have. I am extremely satisfied with the keyboard and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Are the keys weighted or have springs to be like a piano or just synth like?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
Not like a piano. They're touch sensitive. Touch sensitivity is designed to replicate how you would play on an acoustic piano. When you press the key harder, the hammer will strike the string with more force, creating a bigger, louder sound.
