Breedlove

collapse expand iconDescription

The Breedlove Discovery S Concert CE acoustic-electric guitar of European spruce and African mahogany is designed with the new player in mind, featuring earth-conscious, richly resonant EcoTonewood technology that invites a variety of play styles. Its concert body shape is well-balanced, compact and comfortable to play, generating an articulate tonal range with an ample low end, plus a soft cutaway for easy access to every fret. The African mahogany neck has a soft C-shaped profile, whose slimmer design and satin finish enable comfortable play for any hand size. The bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod provide easy adjustment for both the play action and neck angle. The Discovery S Concert CE acoustic-electric also features EcoTonewood back and sides—a process of integrating three layers of sustainably harvested tonewoods to produce an environmentally friendly instrument with vibrant sound. Additional appointments include Fishman Presys I electronics, a narrow nut width, a pinless delta bridge for easy string changing, ovangkol fingerboard and bridge, and chrome closed-gear tuners.

I bought this guitar for my son for Christmas. I played multiple guitars in the price range and hands down, this Breedlove model, stood out above them all. Full, great sound that felt really good in my hands, with the Fishman pickup make this guitar a no brainer. I have a 12 string Breedlove which sounds great and even better played through a PA system. The pinless saddle makes changing strings super easy. Breedlove's quality control, especially for guitars not made in the US, is outstanding.

Do these guitars usually come with a manual? Mine didn't and I'd like to figure out how the tuner works.

This activates the tuner and mutes the output to the amp or PA, so you can tune silently. Tune Your Strings: Pluck a string and the display will show the closest note name (e.g., E, A, D). A series of LED indicators will light up: Center LED lights up when you're in tune. Left LEDs mean the pitch is flat (too low). Right LEDs mean the pitch is sharp (too high). Adjust your tuning pegs accordingly until the center LED is lit. Exit the Tuner: Press the "Tuner" button again to turn it off and re-enable the output.
