A bittersweet old Cuban song which expresses a longing for the days when the pearl - the island of Cuba - was free. The lamenting text (which can be sung in Spanish or English) is set to a slow waltz in a style reminiscent of the late 19th century popular songs of Spain. (3:10)
Boosey and Hawkes La Perla (CME Latin Accents) SATB Composed by Anselmo Lopez Arranged by Wayland Rogers
