Surprisingly good
I bought the GT-1B to take on a short European tour because of it's portability and light weight. I couldn't bring a large pedal board and even my older Boss multi-effects device (ME-50B) would have made my luggage overweight. I was pleasantly surprised with the GT-1B's sonic quality. It is extremely quiet, has many useful effects and relatively easy to use - although it does require consulting the manual to figure how to page through all the programming options to properly edit and store patches. Overall the quality and usability factor is excellent. A lot of bang for under $200.

Darn. Couldn't get there with this one.
Whether this multi-fx unit is the one for you depends on how you intend to use it. Tricky for live/performance applications (ex. To get from patch 1 to patch 4 you will need to pass through effects 2 and 3 on the way.) I my case, I want to follow inspiration on the spur of the moment dropping in on whatever patch is needed in the moment. The gt-1b doea allow you to build user banks and to easily rearrange patches you have crafted. If you know what sounds you will want and the sequence in which you will want to access them then you can build an ordered bank of sounds interspersing clean sounds or whatever. No problem. Super easy. Just not as flexible enough for me. Additionally I was surprised to find that the synth patches did not track well. I own an old Boss gt-10b and though old, the tracking is much better than on the gt-1b. Well made. Durable. Metal chassis. Good expression pedal. Small and light weight. Boss. I was in it for about 5 hours trying to get the legs to pop out. I had my fingers crossed but it just didn't fly for me.

It's good but it lacks in versatility. It's got a lot of great patches and it operates really well. In the end I returned it to upgrade to the GX100 and that thing is AMAZING! Going from patch to patch on the presets was really fun and I found about 20 patches I fell in love with and found very useful. It also doesn't come with a power supply, but the fact that it runs on batteries is a big boost in my opinion. That's why it got 3 stars instead of 2.
A boredom killer for sure!

Are you an amateur/hobbyist bass player? Do you rarely, if ever, play in front of an audience? Do you get bored with the tones from your bass rig? Would you prefer to not disturb your neighbors when you play? Then consider getting one of these! There is so much fun packed in to this little box it would take way too much time to explain. You could start by running through the 99 presets using headphones, and maybe try playing along with a tune that fits with a modeled genre. You won't like them all for sure, but you're bound to like some of them. Then check out all the other features - and there are a lot of them. Just remember, GC has an excellent return policy. So if you don't like the GT-1B, simply return it!

Getting back into the music scene after a long break. Having to rebuild my entire kit I found this to be a much more cost-effective way to go than buying separate pedals that are all built into this system. It can be a little overwhelming at first but using the computer software I am able to set up the sounds I want and arrange them for easy access. AS many other reviewers stated, the one drawback is having to step through several patches to get to what you want, but this can be dealt with by arranging the sounds you want sequentially if you know in advance which patches you need. I will probably be buying the GT-1 guitar version as I continue my rebuild.

I've played bass many years but have never used pedals. I'm good with my setup, but looking for something to fill in my sound like when the guitar goes to a lead so the sound doesn't drop out. Would this work for me?
I too, have been playing bass for many years. You don't need a FX processor. You need volume and to some extent fill. That being said, if you 'turn it up' to match the increase in the guitars player's solo volume, they'll just turn up that much more. Anyway, this will do what you want.....Catalinbread Epoch Boost EP-3 Boost/Preamp Effects Pedal Black and Silver.submitted4 years ago

I just want to tell you that I asked a simple question if it came with an AC adapter and was told yes here on the site. Then it came and does NOT have one. I feel lied to and a bit scammed. Why would you not be honest and just say it doesn't come with it and I could have ordered a plug separately? I will now buy the plug over at Boss.
We're sorry to hear you were given misinformation about the power supply being included with this processor. Please give us a call at 888-240-5975 to explain the situation and one of our gear advisors may be able to offer a discount on the adapter to help compensate. Feel free to email us at yourvoice@guitarcenter.com if you have any questions.submitted4 years ago
