Best Jazz Tone

By wayne mulari

from Novi, MI

Comments about Thomastik JS112 Medium Light Flatwound Jazz Swing Electric Guitar Strings:

The TI Swing series flat wound strings are the only strings I will put on my Jazz guitars! If you want silky smooth playability and classic Jazz Tone, these are the strings you've been looking for. They may cost more (Guitar Center has the best price) but they last a very long time.

Real Jazz strings

By Jeffrey Latten

from A+/-asco, Puerto Rico

Comments about Thomastik JS112 Medium Light Flatwound Jazz Swing Electric Guitar Strings:

I just bought one of the new Korea-built D'Angelico EXL-1 guitars. It's beautiful but it came with roundwound strings. I replaced them with the Thomastiks and the sound is much better and the smooth strings are easier on my fingers. My hand sweats a lot and I can ruin an new set of strings pretty quickly, so it will be interesting to see how long these last, since longevity is one of their selling points. So far, I like them a lot. The heavier gauge (.012E instead of .010 or even .009) gives a lot better broader tone.

Great Jazz Tone!

By Dadrian

from United States

Comments about Thomastik JS112 Medium Light Flatwound Jazz Swing Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are worth every penny and more if your looking for classic jazz tone and feel. I'll buy nothing else from now on for my archtop. So many reviews on these use the word "butter". Now I see why.

Comments about Thomastik JS112 Medium Light Flatwound Jazz Swing Electric Guitar Strings:

These are rather bright strings. They are good strings but not worth double the price of D'Addario.

Comments about Thomastik JS112 Medium Light Flatwound Jazz Swing Electric Guitar Strings:

I have been playing them for over 3 years and find they provide the best jazz flat wound sound on my Godin 5th Ave Archtop. While they are more costly, they will outlast any other brand I have tried 3 to 1.

Comments about Thomastik JS112 Medium Light Flatwound Jazz Swing Electric Guitar Strings:

I went through several different brands and gauges when I began experimenting with flatwound strings several years ago. I settled on Thomastik Infeld as the best brand and this as the best gauge for my needs. This brand is definitely worth paying more for if you want to play with flats. I have had the same set on my primary guitar for more than 3 years and I really didn't even need to change them yet when I bought these ones. I definitely consider these quality and durable strings.

Comments about Thomastik JS112 Medium Light Flatwound Jazz Swing Electric Guitar Strings:

I've tried virtually every brand of strings on my archtop guitars, and have yet to find any that compare to these in terms of tone and feel. Unfortunately, they're very expensive, so I'm constantly looking around for sale prices. When I saw them on sale at GC I immediately ordered two sets.
