Celebrate five decades of Taylor Guitars with the special 50th Anniversary 314ce. This commemorative cutaway model, limited to just 1,974 guitars worldwide, brings together the builder's most advanced features with premium visual appointments that honor Taylor's rich legacy. At the heart of the 314ce is the torrefied Sitka spruce top, which Taylor carefully roasts to add vintage character, and extra warmth and responsiveness. Tonally, the guitar's V-Class bracing optimizes volume, sustain and intonation for a more musical playing experience. And the Grand Auditorium body style yields Taylor's balanced signature sound. With its shaded edgeburst, tortoiseshell pickguard and other ornate details, the 50th Anniversary 314ce is a finely crafted instrument designed for Taylor loyalists and new players alike.

A Torrefied Top Adds Vintage Tone

The Sitka spruce top has gone through Taylor's specialized torrefaction process, which gently roasts the wood to caramelize its interior cells. The result is a vintage patina that enhances the spruce's resonance and tone, which is warmed by the sapele back and sides. You'll hear and feel added warmth and responsiveness that brings out the guitar's organic wood character. Whether gently fingerpicking or strumming full chords, the torrefied top adds vintage vibe to the 314ce's musical output.

With a Shaded Edgeburst and Tortoiseshell Pickguard

Complementing the torrefied top, Taylor sprays a shaded edgeburst finish around the body and neck. Darker at the edges, it lightens towards the center to accentuate the guitar's contours. The bold faux tortoiseshell pickguard makes a stylish visual statement, while the 50th Anniversary commemorative inlays and label showcase the Taylor legacy. Gold tuning machines on the ebony-topped mahogany neck and other ornate accents complete this anniversary model’s look. It's a classy tribute to innovation.

I have played guitar for over 25 years and owned guitars from every major brand. This guitar is the one I have been most excited to play in years. Great sound for a guitar with a cutaway. Sounds almost as powerful as a Dreadnaught but more dynamic. Only complaint is the ES2 system takes some getting used to but has improved from a Taylor I had owned in the past. Set up was excellent out of the box.

  • Amazing piece of art
