Squier

collapse expand iconDescription

The Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster 3-Color Sunburst is an affordable take on a Fender classic, with a finish straight from ’58. For beginners, it's an excellent way to get into the electric guitar game. For more advanced players, it's a solid backup or platform for DIY mods. Loaded with three single-coil pickups, the Affinity Strat's tones fit into any genre of music. Available now at Guitar Center, the Squier Stratocaster is an ideal instrument for those that balance playability with price.

Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster 3-Color Sunburst Main Features

  • Poplar body finished in 3-color sunburst
  • Maple neck with slim C profile, Indian laurel fretboard
  • Three Affinity Series single-coil pickups, 5-way switch
  • 2-point tremolo, sealed split-shaft tuners

Classic Body Style

This Squier has the same double-cutaway style that Fender made famous in the ’50s. However, it's thinner and lighter than a vintage counterpart. The body is poplar; a 3-color sunburst finish adds a touch of old-school cool to this instrument.

Easy-to-Play Neck

The Affinity Stratocaster has a maple neck with thin C profile. It's a comfortable fit for the fingers, making it easier to form chords and solo with single notes. The Indian laurel fretboard looks and feels like traditional rosewood. Check out that headstock logo—the artwork has been updated

Classic Single-Coil Pickups

The Squier Affinity Strat is loaded with three single-coil pickups, a classic configuration. Each has a clear, cutting tone that stands out. Ride the bridge pickup for a twangier sound, or employ the neck single coil for fluid and smooth rhythms and leads. The middle pickup fattens the sound when used in combination with either.

Updated, Fail-Safe Hardware

This Stratocaster has updated hardware that makes it easier for beginners to play. The tremolo unit mounts to the body in two points, rather than the traditional six. This creates less friction for more tuning stability. Thanks to their split-shaft design, it's a cinch to change strings—just thread each through the body of the guitar, insert the loose end into the tuners and turn to tighten. Unlike other guitars, this design eliminates sharp string ends that can poke fingers and damage gig bags.

I decided to purchase this guitar to do some mods on and was pleasantly surprised at how well it played right out of the box. Definitely a lot of guitar for the money!

Bought this used. Date of manufacture is June of 2021. I replaced a cracked fretboard dot and had to sand a little at the bottom of the bridge route to keep the bridge from rubbing when using the trem. Sounds fantastic and plays so sweet.
