Replaced my snare with this road and it is crap. Always plays the rim sound when hit hard and won't play in certain places on the pad. I now use it for my floor tom and it's junk. DONT BUY THIS REPLACEMENT PAD. it's crap!

I use this as a snare with the Alesis Nitro to trigger sounds from Modo Drum in Pro Tools. The rebound feels great for press rolls and the velocity sensitivity works very well with my set up.

I have a sd1250 that needs a new snare and plan on buying this one. Is this compatible? Does it have the ethernet port? Thanks!

The Simmons SD1250 and the Simmons SD10 are both electronic drum kits, but their compatibility depends on what specifically you’re trying to do. Trigger Pad Compatibility Not directly interchangeable: The SD1250 uses more advanced mesh pads and a more capable module. While the pads might physically connect (they both use standard 1/4" cables), performance features like multi-zone triggering or sensitivity might not translate correctly if you plug SD1250 pads into the SD10 module, or vice versa. Same connectors, different technology: You can technically plug, say, a tom pad from the SD1250 into the SD10 module, but it might not behave as expected (e.g., no dual-zone, weird triggering, etc.). Module Compatibility The modules are not cross-compatible. Each kit has its own brain (sound module), and Simmons doesn’t support using one module to run both kits simultaneously or interchangeably. The SD1250 module is much more advanced (more sounds, USB MIDI, more inputs), so upgrading from an SD10 module to an SD1250 module could be done manually, but it's not officially supported as a modular upgrade path. MIDI Compatibility Both modules support MIDI over USB, so if you're triggering sounds in a DAW like Ableton, Logic, or GarageBand, you can use either to control virtual instruments. They’ll both send MIDI notes, but: The note mappings may differ, so you might have to remap your drum software. You could, in theory, run both kits into a DAW for layered or expanded setups, but that’s more of a DIY workaround. Pads might physically work but not optimally. Modules aren’t designed to be cross-compatible. MIDI is your best bet for integrating both into one setup.
