The MP200 is the same as HP702 except that polyphony is "limited" to 256 instead of unlimited on the HP. Reach and watch reviews of HP702, it s an amazing piano and so is the MP200 but you get the MP at a cheaper price. This piano is very very good. Highly recommended

About me: I'm a professional piano player, but I stopped playing about 20 years ago. I bought this instrument to shake off the rust. I capped my budget at 2,000, I was looking for a reasonable sound, good key feeling, console design, and good connectivity. I got almost all of it in this instrument. Things that I like: 1. Modern look 2. Solid build, doesn't wiggle anywhere, the pedals stay in the same place and don't move around—a much better option for stationary instruments than digital keys mounted on foldable stands. 3. Generated piano sound, not sampled - this is both advantage and disadvantage to some 4. Probably the best option for the money (Although US market is somewhat crazy for console-digital pianos right now) 5. Bluetooth MIDI connectivity (I found the app UX a bit lacking). BT MIDI allows for easy practice with digital note recognition - not relying on the tablet's microphone. 7. I was also able to connect my iPad both in BT MIDI and Headphone mode and route all of the sound through the piano to hear lessons through the monitors. Average: 1. Keyboard feel is better than most digital keyboards, but still is a bit far from real thing Don't like: 1. Lacks oompf when used with built-in speakers 2. Lacks oompf when used with built-in speakers (twice - yes, it's important). Almost any monitors will give you much better sound. I use it with Moondrop Arya - and couldn't be happier with the sound. 3. Default tune is 442, so it will always sound out of tune with concert-tuned instruments when you first get it (easy to fix, just annoying) 4. Digitally generated sound, in some situations, lacks depth, but one can tune it in the instrument tuning settings. 5. For any sostenuto sounds, when changing instruments - some of the effects for that instrument are applied immediately, often impacting the sounds that are currently playing. 6. The key action is the PHA-4 standard. The lowest position doesn't have any lining so forte/fortissimo, you'll hear wood knocking sounds. You'll hear the same if someone is practicing wearing monitors. Additionally, key return speed is a bit lacking for more technical pieces. Would have been nice to see it with PHA-4 Concert or PHA-50 7. I often used it connected to the Roland app on my iPad, and one day got a notification that the keyboard uses outdated firmware and a request to update it. I wasn't able to find any information regarding the update process since this model is not mentioned on Roland's website.

Roland is well known for their quality, and after trying several digital pianos, this is the one I decide to buy and I'm glad I did. The advantage to buying this one is that it has almost all the same features as the HP700 for less money. What sold me on this one is the key action- it feels and plays the most like a real piano compared to other mid range digitals including Yamaha and Alesis. It is incredibly responsive to pressure and speed, just like a real piano. I was skeptical that I'd ever find something that actually did dynamic playing well. You could use it as a standalone piano and be happy, and it looks nice in my room. It was heavy and requires 2 people for assembly, but the instructions were clear and it wasn't too difficult to put together. The one downside is that the built in speakers are not awesome, but there are several options to hook it up to speakers or use bluetooth, so that's not really an issue. Then you get the added bonus of tons of sound, midi and USB plugins, and an onboard recording feature that holds up to 10 songs that you can use as backing tracks. This is the only piano you will need to do all kinds of cool stuff, either analog or digital, and for me, that was worth the investment.

    - Produces a great sound when connected to Roland Headphones. Speakers need improvement. - Cabinet looks modern and this is the newest model 2021 from Roland. It was made for Guitar Center but it looks the same as Roland RP-702 and is much cheaper. - Love the touch, PHA-4 and Ivory feel. - Very enjoy Bluetooth connection: Audio & Midi.; Apps Enabled (Accompaniment/styles) connection also works great.

  • This is the real "deal" - a true mid-range digital bargain

This is the piano in our second house - we wanted a digital so we wouldn't have to worry about maintenance (tuning, etc.) - also, we didn't have the space for a baby grand. We had looked at various music stores; we loved the Roland HP702 but at $3K it was out of our budget. To our surprise, during Guitar Center's 4th of July sale, we went to look at the Williams Symphony II one more time, and next to it was the HP702! Actually, it's a different model, but functionally identical to the 702. Needless to say it plays rings around the Williams. Absolutely wonderful instrument.
