PROMARK: Play. Plant. Preserve.

Description
Promark's Hot Rod Sticks provide drummers with an innovative drumstick option for crafting fresh acoustic sounds. Constructed of 19 premium birch dowels, the Hot Rods offer drummers a lively, natural rebound and lighter sound than standard drumsticks. Promark, now a proud member of the D'Addario family of brands, has been an industry leader in drumstick design and manufacturing for over 60 years.
Reduced Volume for Any Venue
With their unique multi-dowel design, Hot Rods produce a lighter sound than regular drumsticks, allowing drummers to explore new dimensions of tone in acoustic and low-volume settings. The bundled birch dowels provide a crisp attack while dampening volume, making Hot Rods ideal for small clubs, coffeehouses, acoustic gigs, and recording. Hot Rods give drummers tonal flexibility for any venue.
Innovative Texture and Rebound
Promark Hot Rods feature 19 select birch dowels wrapped together near the shoulder of the stick, providing an innovative texture and lively rebound. The dowel design produces a variety of articulations not possible with standard drumsticks. Drummers can create dynamic sounds by striking different parts of the bundle. The dowels also have a natural rebound, allowing for effortless drum rolls and rhythmic patterns.
A Sound for Every Style
Originally developed as an alternative for drummers wanting a lighter sound than drumsticks but more attack than brushes, Hot Rods have become popular for drummers of all styles. Their versatility and innovative design make them suitable for any genre from jazz to rock to funk. Promark also offers Cool Rods, Lightning Rods, and Thunder Rods, providing a range of sounds for every drummer.
Premium Quality and Craftsmanship
Like all Promark products, Hot Rod drumsticks are made in the USA to the highest quality standards. Promark uses only unendangered wood and environmentally-friendly practices. As part of the D'Addario family of brands, Promark infuses passion and innovation into every product. Hot Rods are available in .550" diameter and 16" length, providing durability and comfort.

Hot Rods are truely hot!
These drums sticks are hard to adjust to if you never have used them. They dont have the same feel as a drum stick would when you hit your ride cymbal. It takes some getting use to when changing from something completely different. These are a nice addition to a stick bag with the similarity of brushes. For a nice soothing backbeat is when these can be used and they also can put out some sound too!

Hot Rods Good for Lighter Playing
I bought a pair of Hot Rods to use at my church where I don't want to play as loud. They allow me to play softer while using normal strokes and I can still build to a reasonably loud sound when desired with bigger strokes. The only drawback is that they chip on cymbals fair easily, which reduces their lifespan. I would recommend them to anyone looking for more dynamic control.
