The 6505 II's four 12AX7 preamp tubes are the source of its crushing distortion. With dedicated pre- and post-gain controls, you can dial in just the right amount of saturation and overdrive. Turn the pre-gain up for more distortion and the post-gain down for a tighter tone. This lets you achieve anything from classic hard rock crunch to full-on metal mayhem. The three-band EQ provides further tone shaping with dedicated bass, midrange and treble controls to scoop the mids and tighten the low-end.

120W of 6L6GC Power Tube Output

Four 6L6GC power tubes provide a robust 120 watts of output power, enough to cut through on even the largest of stages. Despite its high output, the 6505 II has a surprisingly responsive feel, with power tube overdrive kicking in early to provide power amp distortion at lower volumes. This highly saturated yet responsive tone is a hallmark of the 6505 line. For recording or smaller gigs, you can also switch to the 30W or 15W modes using the rear-panel power switch.

Reverb and Resonance Controls

New to the 6505 II are onboard reverb and resonance controls. The digital reverb provides a touch of ambience to add depth without muddying the tone. Adjust the level to your liking using the single reverb control. The resonance control allows you to fine-tune the tightness and body.
