I decided at 52 years old to finally learn to play guitar. I chose this amp strictly on appearance. It looks great with the guitar I chose. Much to my surprise the sound quality is amazing. I love the portability, One charge lasts for several hours of actual play time and a few days standby. I am an absolute beginner as you can tell, but I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend to any beginner like myself.

Love the way this sounds! Only thing is I had to tighten the speaker down to reduce rattle in the 'squeal' channel. Also the moniker on the faceplate of the speaker is massive and hideous, and very difficult to remove (you have to remove all internal components to get it out). On top of that, there is no output. I would recommend the original. PIGNOSE CORPORATE!! It looks and sounds better without that STUPID nameplate. Remove it!

Comments about Pignose Hog 20 Amp:

I am a newbie to electric guitars. My wife bought me an accoustic/electric for Christmas. I hooked this little amp up to it, and just started smiling. I don't know about all the techincal ratings, features etc... But I do know that I like it. If your new to the guitar and looking for a small amp youi will love this little beauty.

Comments about Pignose Hog 20 Amp:

Just got this amp along with a Shaker Mic & Rocktron Digital Delay and it sounds AWESOME. For such a small amp this puppy really wails, clean or with effects. Recharge function is a money saver, no more batteries to buy . I love how small & compact this amp is yet, it can still pack a walup.

Comments about Pignose Hog 20 Amp:

puts out a lot of sound for its size. Quite solid and looks like it will hold up to a lot of use. Running on batteries and its compact size makes it very portable. I chose this model for it tunability. Very easy to change the sound coming out. I Think it can get really loud. I use it in a small auditorium and only have it on 1 or 2 for use with a harmonica.

Comments about Pignose Hog 20 Amp:

I was looking for a solution to the "dirty power" in my new house. All my amps buzzed from the AC power. The Pignose was the solution! I can run on batteries and no buzz. It's just what I was looking for. The sounds is quiet good for the price and size. Not much for effects. So far, the batteries have worked great. Much better than the mini amps that require 6 AA batteries.

        Comments about Hog 20 Amp:

This has great tone and volume for such a little battery powered box! I got this amp for the occasional outdoor small gathering, as well as indoor (apartment) practice. It sounds good with both electric or acoustic/electric guitar. I have only used it a few times so I haven't yet tested the limits of the battery's power, but so far it has been perfectly adequate for every use.

Comments about Pignose Hog 20 Amp:

I got this amp because it's bigger, better sounding and has rechargeable batteries compared to the mini amps that are out there. It is a little bigger and heavier then a lot of the minis, but also seems much more solid and durable.

I still use it plugged into the wall. My electric guitar (Hamer Special) sounds great on it. I don't regret it at all.
