Its a perfect fit!

I ordered the Musicians Gear SG case with a little concern, because of the old adage that "not all SG's fit all SG cases". My SG is the origional thin body with the Les Paul neck. It's a perfect fit! closes easily,holds the guitar securely inside, even if shaken. The accessory compartment is large enough for a strap, extra strings, and even a small digital tuner! It closed easily enough that i'm sure it will hold the newer models with thicker bodies just as well. The great quality, and price of this case, are the very reasons I trust half of my expensive guitars, to Musicians Gear cases.

You get what you pay for.

General quality and construction is fair. That was expected for the price. My complaint is that the three hinges aren't in a straight line with each other, so when the lid is opened the hinges bind up, causing the case body to very visibly distort. That really doesn't hurt anything, but the aggravating byproduct of this distortion is that the lid won't stay up in the open position. This is, in my opinion, a design issue, not an improper hinge placement by an assembly robot. Again in my opinion, the center hinge should be omitted and replaced with another latch in it's place to hold the case securely closed on the hinge side. My guess is that a replacement would be the same way since I see the problem as a design issue, so I'm not going to aggravate myself by going through an exchange process. For the price I paid, I'll live with it, but I wouldn't recommend it or buy another one.

    I got a great deal from Guitar Center many years ago on a brand new made in Nashville Gibson SG. But it came with a (very nice) soft case. Genuine Gibson hard cases are too expensive. But this (generic?) one looks great and seems to be well built. Best of all my SG fits perfectly!

    Got this case for my Epiphone Sg and it fits perfectly. It even has a key that I can use to lock and unlock it. The case is black. The shipping was quick and easy. It has a compartment for my slides, picks, tuner, strap, phone, and all my other guitar accessories that I like to carry.
