If you have the money, this is definitely worth the purchase. I bought this uke about 2 years ago and have been playing ever since. I upgraded to this beauty after returning a beginners lanikai and subsequently decided I wanted a really good one. After testing all of the ukes at the guitar center, I settled on this baby. This uke sounds absolutely beautiful. It Has vibrant and airy sound. Also, I'm happy to report that after two years of jamming the tuning abilities haven't changed from the first day i got it. Further more the electric aspect of it is great. I can plug it in at anytime, and control the volume and bass right from my uke. All in all, it was a wonderful purchase. I'm so happy I invested in a quality product. If you want great sound, great aesthetic, and quality, this is the ukulele for you!

i bought this uke on my own and was pumped. its a great looking ukulele and sounds great when plucking the strings individually, however when i strum the guitar, i get a bad reverb like sound. i don't plug the uke in all the time due to travel, or lack of an amp so whenever i play w/out one, it sounds poor. i wish i hadn't spent so much money on one that sounds bad with out an amp. i wouldv'e saved a couple hundred and bought the non-plugin version. overall its a beautiful and impressive ukulele, but unless you are playing with an amp 90% of the time, get the one without the pickup.

Worth the $

Comments about Mitchell MU100CE Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele:

Bought this yesterday after doing lots of research. (Got it on sale, too -bonus!)Tried a friend's Mitchell 70 acoustic and liked the look and sound, so when I decided to get my first electric, this brand was already on my radar. Looked at some more popular brands, both middle and higher-end, but this was the best value by far. I mean, I could have gotten one a little nicer - for twice the price! The photo doesn't do it justice; it's absolutely beautiful. Sound unamplified is very good for an instrument in this price range, despite the laminated top. Action is pretty good. Fit and finish is impeccable. I've read some reviews complaining about sharp-edged frets, but the one I got is just fine. Made in Indonesia, not China, which was important to me. In short, a great deal.

Great Buy

Comments about Mitchell MU100CE Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele:

I picked this up on Black Friday. I wanted one that I could plug in when playing the open mics. The plus for me is the built in tuner and the Fishman Preamp has Low,Mid and high settings. I wouldn't have paid the tagged price it had but I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse.

Comments about Mitchell MU100CE Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele:

I am not happy with the way this purchase was handled. I ordered a Mitchell Ukulele on line from Guitar Center because I wanted a new item in the original box. I don't like to shop in your local store because when I make a purchase in your store I am buying the item off the wall that never comes with the original packaging or information such as warranty information, manuals, or any other extras that usually come with such items. I have asked for this information before in the past and get the run around until someone comes up with something that I am never sure is original to the item purchased. This ukulele was mailed to me from my local store (Evansville Ind.) in a box that was originally for a Dean Guitar hastily wrapped in bubble wrap by a store employee without any of the relevant info. I thought that I would try shopping your store on line to avoid this disappointment but needless to say I am done with Guitar Center in store or online.

Disregard all the negitive back lash that is given on this product, even though reviews we made to be biased about your experience.

I recently found myself sifting through a guitar center shop and the first thing a spot on the wall is the very Ukulele I am specifying. Very beautiful and strong build the ukulele has.

Fell in love with this model and that very one i picked up myself in the store. When a comment states that the instrument has "Poor-sound quality", it means that the model that was purchased by them, does not meet their standards.

I love this ukulele and I hope you'll find yourself enjoying this very one too.

Comments about Mitchell MU100CE Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele:

This is a great ukulele. It has a nice rich sound in both upper and lower octaves. My only complaint is that the tuner/line out eats through batteries in minutes. If you're planning on using this onstage, I hope you're willing to probably pay more than the uke costs simply on batteries alone. The strings it comes with lets out a good happy sound and are pretty strong, although they get out of tune quite often, which even adds onto the annoyance of the battery situation.

Comments about Mitchell MU100CE Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele:

This is a pretty great ukulele for the most part--it's beautiful, durable, long-lasting, and sounds great when plugged into an amp. The only real problem I have with it is its acoustic sound. Unless plugged in, this uke sounds very shallow and quiet compared to my other ukuleles. Other than that, it's perfect for concerts, gigs, and other events as such, anything other than acoustic performances and practices.

Comments about Mitchell MU100CE Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele:

Hello! I got this product yesterday, and I already fell in love with it! I had been researching for the right ukulele for months. I already had a Cordoba Protégé (my first ukulele, also awesome) and now wanted an acoustic electric. My family went down and bought it at our local Guitar Center and surprised me with it. It is absolutely stunning! Way prettier in person. I plugged it into an my brothers amp and it sounded great. I really like it because it sounds good not plugged in too. It is a little quiet though. My only (minor) complaint is that their is a small buzzing sound in the bridge by two of the strings, but I believe this is just a small mistake and will go away when I put new strings on it.

Comments about Mitchell MU100CE Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele:

Anyone who has lots of experience playing ukulele would be thrilled to play this instrument. It has, in my opinion, very impressive sound especially considering the price. The pictures really don't give it justice, it's much prettier in person. This is by far one of my favorite ukes I own. After breaking in the strings (only about a week of playing for hours everyday) it hasn't fallen out of tune. The built in tuner is also very handy, just to be sure before playing. I am very impressed with how great this ukulele is for such a low price!

              Service and delivery comments:

It arrived within just a couple of days after purchased, and was wrapped so securely. It wasn't damaged at all, not even a scratch!

Comments about Mitchell MU100CE Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele:

Initially I was a little disappointed with this instrument. After a week or so I began thinking about returning it and looking for another. This is my first Uke, I have been playing electric and acoustic guitar for years. As soon as I realized that a Ukulele is not an electric guitar and it doesn't have a large sound chamber to get all that volume. The more I played it the more I discovered that another big difference was the nylon strings vs the steel strings I'd become used to. The more I worked on my strum/picking method the better and louder the instrument became. Plugged in this thing is just killer. I'm keeping it but I'll keep looking.

Comments about Mitchell MU100CE Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele:

I wasn't able to try this uke out in the store as the Guitar Center near me doesn't carry acoustic-electric ukes in store. Ordered it online after reading a lot of the reviews.

It was somewhat heavy, which I didn't mind. The tuner came with bad batteries, but after they were replaced it worked very well. It is a beautiful instrument and looks like a tiny guitar. Worked well with an amp.

The thing that bothered me the most about this uke was the tone quality. It didn't have a nice warm, hollow, and big resonance that you find in an acoustic uke. I didn't expect it to sound exactly like an acoustic, but the tone still bothered me enough to go to three other music stores to test it against other ukes. It sounded like an electric guitar that's not plugged into an amp (even when it was plugged in).

I am guessing that a factor is that the finish on it makes it a little heavier, thus making the wood not able to vibrate as much to help create that rich tone. The sound was somewhat muffled.

I'm returning this today after a week of play in exchange for the Luna High Tide Acoustic-Electric.

I am a recreational player who heads up a uke Meetup group of 12-18 musicians. This is a good, all round uke with quality Fishman electronics. High quality clearcoat finish, reflecting the Malaysian build, which has to better than Chinese. Very good intonation, even at upper frets, I am pleased. Great instrument for the money, it was on a markdown when I purchased; Staff at local store very friendly and helpful.
