Martin Guitar is proud to introduce the DX Johnny Cash Signature Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar. Designed in collaboration with John Carter Cash and the Cash Foundation, this signature model pays homage to the Man in Black's famous custom all-black Martin D-35. The DX Johnny Cash features a jet-black high-pressure laminate top, back and sides and a comfortable Performing Artist neck profile. It also includes professional-grade Fishman MX electronics for a natural plugged-in tone.

Iconic Tribute to the Man in Black

With its distinctive all-black finish and custom inlays, the DX Johnny Cash is instantly recognizable as a tribute to the legendary Johnny Cash. The rosette and label feature Cash's signature, while the fingerboard is inlaid with stars and the word "CASH" at the 18th fret. This signature model allows players of all skill levels to honor Cash's important place in music history.

Professional Electronics for Stage and Studio

The Fishman MX electronics system gives the DX Johnny Cash a natural amplified tone perfect for live performance or recording. Fishman is an industry leader in acoustic amplification and their discreet undersaddle pickup captures the nuances of the guitar's tone. Volume, EQ and Body Blend controls allow players to shape their sound with ease.

A Neck Made for Playing

Martin's Performing Artist neck profile is designed for comfort during long playing sessions. Its slim, tapered shape fits smoothly in the hand, enabling intricate solos and extended jam sessions without fatigue. The 25.4" scale length is familiar to most acoustic players.

Eco-Friendly Fretboard and Classic Body

The DX Johnny Cash features an eco-friendly Richlite fretboard that is unaffected by changes in humidity. This durable and sustainable material provides a smooth playing surface and helps eliminate fret buzz. The guitar's classic Dreadnought body shape produces the projection and resonance that Martin is known for, with scalloped X-bracing for a balanced tone.

I really do.It sends mixed messages but happens to be true! It's a killer acoustic guitar. I've had it for 6 months and I love it. The pickup is surprisingly pleasant sounding. The action right out of the box was easy. It sounds great, meaty, strong middle with peppered brightness.

  • This is a great guitar

I have seen several of these Johnny Cash guitars get broken from everyday use. I had three so far only one didn't break. One the volume control came apart, another one got a crack in the body and I have seen several of these for sale with similar cracks on the body or sides. Seems to be a very poor quality build. I like the guitar but it's just not very durable. I decided to leave this review because I saw a lot of good reviews from people who just got theirs.. so I decided to leave a review from someone who has owned three over several years. I still own one.. it also developed a small crack recently. I'm not really that hard on my instruments these are just made with a flimsy material I notice.

I bought this a couple of days ago online. It came in yesterday and this is IMO, the best of Martin's X-Series line. The action is perfect and it stays in tune forever ! The sound of this one , is what a HPL guitar should sound like which is, rich and full, and not overly bright like some of the other X-Series come across as. I'm 63 and have been playing now for 50 years and this is, the best acoustic that I have ever come across. I know some of the purists will say that it's HPL and therefore doesn't matter. Well not everyone can afford to shell out the big bucks for a USA , all wood, made Martin , so this one IMO, is the next best thing. The gig bag that came with it, isn't all that, so I'm going to get a HS case for it. I love this guitar and can't put it down, so that ought to tell you something.

  • A great guitar, sounds great, plays great and looks awesome

I mostly play at small events like bonfire partys, picnics, or jam sessions. It's my 1st Martin guitar and I am very pleased with it, even the gig bag is cool
