Martin

collapse expand iconDescription

The Martin Guitars Road Series D-10E dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar features a solid spruce top, and sapele back and sides. The D-10E delivers Martin's signature warm and resonant tone that has shaped generations of music. The guitar's Martin E1 electronics give players natural amplified sound and an onboard tuner that automatically mutes the output for seamless tuning adjustments. With a comfortable Performing Artist neck and hand-rubbed finish, stylish mother-of-pearl inlays and rosette, and durable Richlite fingerboard and bridge, the D-10E is built to inspire.

Solid Tonewoods Produce Iconic Martin Sound

As Martin's flagship tonewoods, spruce and sapele give the Road Series D-10E a balanced, complex voice ideal for any genre or playing style. The spruce top provides articulate highs and midrange, while the sapele back and sides add warmth and depth. Together, these tonewoods produce the resonant, harmonic-rich tone that Martin guitars are famous for.

Martin Electronics Deliver Natural Amplified Tone

The D-10E's Martin E1 electronics expertly amplify the guitar's acoustic properties with minimal coloration. Players can adjust the Volume, Tone and Phase via the soundhole controls and under-saddle pickup to shape their tone, all while the onboard tuner provides convenient mute tuning without needing an external pedal.

Premium Appointments Inspire Beautiful Music

With stylish appointments like mother-of-pearl inlays, a multi-stripe rosette and a hand-rubbed neck finish, the D-10E exudes Martin's signature understated elegance. A Performing Artist neck profile offers a comfortable feel for any playing style. Richlite, an engineered wood alternative, provides a durable yet harmonically rich fingerboard and bridge. Every detail of the D-10E is crafted to inspire beautiful music.

Great value, everything I expected!

I've never owned a Martin before, used to stick to the $100-300 range on acoustics previously. As my experience went up I decided to invest on an affordable acoustic and had high expectations for Martin. I was absolutely blown away by how consistent this instrument is! Exactly what I expected and tied together with a fair price (considering all the hard wood for the front, side and back) and the rich Martin tone. The next acoustic I get will be closer to the $2k-$3k range and it will WITHOUT A DOUBT be a Martin guitar!

Beautiful guitar, poor sound quality

Bought this guitar to upgrade from a Mitchell ME1ACE and right after I got the Martin out of the box I noticed that it was much quieter than my Mitchell and not as clear, so I changed the strings to a brand I prefer and still nothing, after I played the tar out of it to make sure I really was unsatisfied I ended up returning it. I'm not sure if I just got a dud or what but my Mitchell still sounds way better! (Unbiased opinion had several other guitar geeks tell me the same) It might just be the one I got but I was not happy with the sound the guitar made. And also I might add that it was much more difficult to get around the frets, and the playability wasn't there. Overall unsatisfied

I have had several Martin Guitars, from vintage to newer Models. The D-10E is a lot of Martin at a reasonable price. The built-in tuner and Fishman pickups are tucked inside the sound whole, work great and do not take away from the beautiful finish on this classic dreadnought. I recommend anyone who wants the classic reliability and quality of martin at a reasonable price to pick a D-10E up. I don't think you will be disappointed.

The feel of this guitar is just perfect to me. The neck and frets just feel more natural than any other acoustic I have played. I doubt I will ever switch from Martin guitars based on this model. I will probably look into getting a Martin with a cut-out next. The sound is also wonderful.

  • Terrific guitar!

I have a Martin sunburst OM cutaway that I absolutely love. Of the seven guitars I own (Taylor's, Furch, Breedlove, Washburn) it is the one I consistently reach for. I've wanted a Martin Dreadnaught for some time. For the price, this is a fantastic guitar with that classic Martin sound and feel.

  • Nice guitar, better if as advertised.0

I really don't have any problem with this guitar except advertising as solid wood if it's really HPL as the DX series. I can't tell the difference by looking, but was one of the reasons I bought the D10E. The second reason I bought it at GC was because I like the darkened blonde as shown, they assured me it's "just like the picture". However it's a light blonde just like the other online store. I'll live. It's going to be my campfire/travel guitar so it will get broke in. All in all I'm happy. I'm just used to my J45.

  • I did buy this guitar again!

Purchased originally in December 2022 for son who is an aspiring songwriter. Electronics issue with original purchase, but Guitar Center made this right through return, whereby he wanted the same make/model despite previous electronic issues. He loved the tone, action, and looks.

May I ask if this guitar is full-sized or standard size, like 41 inches (if Taylor gsmini is 36 inches)? Not sure if it is the correct way to measure the size of the guitar...
