The MEINL Percussion FX20 Effects Pedal allows you to add percussion to your tracks with complete control. Toggle between ten pre-programmed percussion samples plus an additional ten custom samples of your own. An A/B switch keeps the two sample lists separate and allows you to easily change between them. The dynamic steel pedal has a sensitive and smooth spring back with no sound interference, while the trigger responds seamlessly to any rhythmic pattern. A durable ABS casing houses the electronics and is weighted to provide stability on any surface. Perfect for multi-instrumentalists and percussionists, the pedal includes volume control, an 1/8” headphone jack and 1/4” jacks for stereo or mono out. A micro SD card to load custom sounds is included.

Dear all, I took over a Meinl FX20, i did find a collection of Meinl loops, but seem not to be able to get them running on the FX20; I put a loop on the sd-card, but when I switch to the A-bank, I get some different changing letters in the display and no sound.

Maybe I should change the file name of the loop, but I am confused about the exact format.

Hope you can help me out, kind regards, Willem

Ah, the Meinl FX20—very cool pickup! That’s a unique little machine, but yeah, getting loops to work on it can be a bit picky because it expects files to follow a very specific format. Here’s what you need to know to get your loops working properly on the FX20: 1. File Format The FX20 expects loops to be in WAV format, specifically: 44.1 kHz- 16-bit PCM- Mono (sometimes stereo works, but mono is safest) .wav file extension (all lowercase) File Naming Format- This is the tricky part—the FX20 expects loops to be named in a specific way so it can recognize and load them. Typically, loops need to be named like this: A01.WAV A02.WAV ... B01.WAV B02.WAV The first letter corresponds to the bank (A or B). The numbers (01–20) correspond to the pad number. The FX20 has 2 banks (A and B), each with 20 slots. Make sure your filenames match this format exactly—including capitalization. The device is very picky. SD Card Requirements Use a standard SD card, FAT32 formatted. Maximum size supported is usually 32 GB. Place your WAV files in the root directory of the SD card—not inside folders. Steps to Load Loops Format your SD card (FAT32). Convert your loop to the proper WAV format (44.1kHz / 16-bit / mono). Rename the file to something like A01.wav. Place it on the root of the SD card. Insert into the FX20. Power it on and switch to Bank A. Tap pad 1 — if all went well, it should play your loop.
