I am extremely impressed with the look of the Koa wood; it is absolutely beautiful. I ordered the guitar because it is made of Koa wood and was extremely pleased with how beautiful the guitar looks when I opened the box. After tuning it and playing I was also pleased with the tone, which is really good, I played several other guitars, at GC, including the Taylor 214 CE-K, which has a Sitka spruce top and layered Koa sides and, back, I preferred the tone of the Luna and the beauty of the solid Koa guitar!! I have never seen a better-looking guitar, especially priced well under $1,000. I have a custom-built ukulele also made in Koa and this guitar makes a perfect match for my Kanile'a ukulele and the Luna cost a whole lot less than my uke..lol.
