Luna

collapse expand iconDescription

Companions to Luna's Apollo Tattoo, Peace and Henna electric guitars, these Tattoo basses combine quality, style and affordability ... aimed at cost conscious musicians of any age. The tattoo design is laser etched with an open-pore finish, so you, the player, can "feel" the design. The Tattoo takes its bold design from traditional Polynesian body ornamentation. Those designs were monochromatic, tattooed in black against brown skin with strongly geometric patterns and shapes and symbols inspired by the natural island world.

With the Tattoo, you'll enjoy the stable feel and satisfying response of its comfortable action. You'll be enveloped in deep, fundamental bass tone, whether fat and unadorned (with the tone control at zero) or mixed with the perfect treble component (with the tone control at maximum, or anywhere in between).

Sounds like a bass that would cost 5 x as much, and looks great too! Totally satisfied.

This was my first Bass, I'm mainly a 6 string man, but I wanted to play around with it and see it I could pick up some stuff for home recording. When I got it I was first taken back by the finish and print, very nice, I liked it. Then I plugged her in and tuned her up, the feel was great, and the tone superb. The set up was great. A good recommended I upgrade the bridge which I will do but otherwise I couldn't be more pleased. She's got a good feel, light, easy on the eyes and hands. This is a great deal for someone wanting to learn Bass, you won't be disappointed.

I love the look and feel of this bass guitar! But... it has a lot of fret noise. Vibration in the strings that I don't love. We are trying to adjust it. I'd go to Guitar Center, but it's a 2+ hour drive. Still on trial.

First time playing after tuning, bad fret buzz on the D & G strings at the nut end. After three trips to Guitar ctr. (once because there was no tech @ the Charleston store, second time because the svc tech @ the LVB store left early for a dental appt.) finally got it adjusted. The volume knob was loose, made that adjustment myself. After playing now for a week seems to be fine and working properly.

All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 8.5 – 9.5 lbs.

This being a short scale bass. Does that mean that the body and the dimensions of the bass are still the same size as a normal bass, just with fewer frets on the neck. Or is the whole item scaled down to fit the size of the shorter neck?
