I've been playing over 20 years and this is the first Ibanez I've purchased. I've never been a fan of their fretboards; I thought they are too flt and thin. The RG470AHM caught my eye at the Roy, UT Guitar Center. I picked it up and within 30 seconds I knew I had to get it. This guitar feels like home to me, it really plays great. It's light...ish, as the trem system is responsible for a good portion of the weight.

I only had one issue with this guitar and it is with the pups. I'm not a fan of the Quantum pups. So I replaced them with Seymour Duncan's; Neck-Custom Shop '59 Middle-Cool Rail Bridge JB. I am completely happy with it and I can't put it down.

Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG470AHM 6-string Electric Guitar:

      Bad set up to start.
The frets are awful, not finished and the edges are super sharp. Frets need filing and edges need to be sanded down so as not to cut your finger to pieces. Pick-ups have junk tone.
I have an RG750 from the late 80's which was built with care and quality was insane good. The RG470 AMH looked to be a good jammer but I was sadly mistaken. Looks like I'll have to dump quite a bit of time fixing the bad fret job and looking for some decent pick-ups. Maybe I can offload this on some sucker.
If this is the way that Ibanez has went with quality I'm done with them. Guess I'll have to start looking into a PRS or ESP.

The color is amazing. More so in person. My son is 16 and could not be happier. This was a Big deal for him. It's everything he wanted and it sounds great. Thanks for all your help when talking to him on line. We will continue doing business with you in the future.

Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG470AHM 6-string Electric Guitar:

This was supposed to be my second guitar. I was very happy when I got it. I got it off the wall, which I thought was a bit strange, but I went with it. I went home, tried to tune it, and immediately broke a string. I wasn't aware of the locking nuts at the top of the neck (I wasn't given a manual, so how was I supposed to know?). Anyway, that was kinda disappointing, but I thought it'd be an easy fix. I took all the strings off and decided to restring it. However, the bridge was messed up and refused to move. That was my main issue.

I also have some complaints about the condition of it when I got it off the wall. The bridge was in the wrong spot; it was terribly out of tune; and the employees provided bad service.

My advice: research this kind of bridge before you buy it, and ask for a new one from the box.

Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG470AHM 6-string Electric Guitar:

It's a solid guitar and I personally really enjoy how it looks and feels. The metal used for the trem isn't very good though; I've had this for about 8 months and the blades of the trem are already dull and even slightly chipped (hopefully I got unlucky :( )

Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG470AHM 6-string Electric Guitar:

Exactly what I was looking for. The ash body and maple neck work well together. Pick up configuration gives out a lot of flexibility for playing styles. The set up could have been done better mine had a buzz/rattle at the bridge on open E cord after some spring adjustment and tuning it is no longer an issue. The stock string are not that good and don't stay in tune very long. Over all it's still impressive to look at ,feels very nice, comfortable to play

Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG470AHM 6-string Electric Guitar:

Probably some of the sharpest fret ends I have ever experienced. It is as if the factory cuts them and glues them without any type of touch up or polish. Once I spent 4 hours cleaning them up the guitar is a blast to play, but it shouldn't have be able to get past QC like that.
