Ibanez AEGB24FE Fretless Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar Mahogany Sunburst

Description
The Ibanez AEGB24FE brings the rich, resonant sound of an all-acoustic bass to the stage and studio. With its sapele top, back and sides, the AEGB24FE produces a warm, balanced tone, perfect for accompanying vocals or blending into an acoustic ensemble. Its slim, single-cutaway body provides easy playability while projecting a full low end.
Crafted With Sapele and Nyatoh/Maple for Organic Tone
The top, back and sides are all sapele, which gives the AEGB24FE a warm, rounded tone with nice presence in the mids. Combined with the three-piece nyatoh and maple neck, you get excellent resonance and a rich low end. The walnut fingerboard contributes to the AEGB24FE's balanced tonal character. Together, these tonewoods produce an acoustic bass sound that blends beautifully with other instruments.
Innovative Fretless Design for Expressive Playing
The AEGB24FE has a fretless fingerboard, giving you the freedom to slide, bend and vibrate notes for more vocal-like expression. The walnut fingerboard provides a smooth surface for gliding up and down the neck. This innovative design makes the AEGB24FE an excellent choice for musical styles like jazz, funk or R&B where you want to emulate an upright bass.
Undersaddle Pickup and Preamp for Amplified Performance
Plug in the Ibanez undersaddle pickup to accurately reproduce the AEGB24FE's natural acoustic tone through an amplifier or PA. The built-in AEQ-2T preamp lets you shape your amplified sound with adjustable bass and treble controls. It also has a tuner that operates without plugging in, excellent for quick onstage tuning.
Play Comfortably With Finger Rest and Walnut Bridge
The AEGB24FE has a finger rest above the strings so you can find a comfortable thumb position. This ergonomic design makes playing the fretless neck even easier. The walnut bridge transfers vibrations directly into the body for organic tone and sustain. Every detail of the AEGB24FE is designed with the bassist in mind.

Playability and tone are great for the money. Acoustically and electric, tone is nice and sweet. Neck is nice. The tuners, nut and saddle/pins are serviceable, which is expected at the price point.

I've been looking for a few years for a fretless. Tried a few out at the NAMM show over the years. Was really impressed with the Godin, but try to find one somewhere! Saw this one in January at the show and really liked it. Ordered it and it sounds great through my amp. Just used it in a show. Onboard preamp works great as well as the tuner. I'm not used to such a big bodied bass, but will get used to it. I love the finish and cut away feature. It's light. Glad I got it.
Very happy with this purchase!

I really appreciate the beautifully understated and thoughtful design and the fact that, at least for me, this bass lacks NOTHING. Flat wound strings, nice preamp with tuner and EQ, perfectly good tuning machines and a beautiful finish. I didn't have to do a thing to it. Really wonderful instrument for not a huge investment. I'm enjoying practicing without needing to plug in. When I am plugged in, a compressor and chorus really compliment this bass!
Great sound

This bass is pretty unique, it came with flats and has an amazing acoustic sound and sounds even better plugged in. The E string is a little quieter due to the flats and smaller size, but still sounds great. The only issue was the back of the neck has a rough finish near the first three frets. Would definitely reccomend and purchase again if need be.
